American Horror Story - Season 4: Freakshow [Blu-ray] [2015] [Region Free]

I am a big fan of AHS and was not disappointed in season 4. It was creepy, compelling, sad and funny. Like another reviewer I was impressed and glad that they used real "freaks" which added to the pathos when shown how "normal" people reacted to them and that the so called "normals" were in many cases even bigger and nastier "freaks". I can't wait for season 5 Hotel. Hope Jessica Lange is in it as she gives stand out performances. Also Sarah Paulson is superb and amazing in the role of the 2-headed twins. I've been a fan of hers since American Gothic and am enjoying her current role in the OJ Simpson tv show on BBC 2. Overall loved AHS season 4; looking forward to season 5 and beyond. Long may it continue.

I was uneasy about watching this to begin with as I heard that some of these shows featured people swallowing live fish, which I could not have watched under any circumstances. Happily the plot is fish-free and has some great twists and turns. I felt so sorry for a lot of the characters, especially Pepper, who reduced me to tears in one episode. This really does go heavy on the gory effects, but if that doesn't bother you, enjoy the 'dark carnival' atmosphere and the creepy/loveable characters. Interesting how the so-called freaks are more decent people than the so-called normal ones. I liked the surreal ending too. After the quite frankly boring 'Coven', this series has found its way again.

The first 4 seasons of American horror story are just brilliant because you have Jessica Lange who's just amazing in the show. The fifth season called "Hotel" wasn't completely bad but wasn't that great because it was full of s*x pardon my language. It also has lady gaga in it replacing Jessica Lange which didn't make me very happy, enough about that though I was really impressed by the quality of this disk. Amazon you never fail to make this customer very happy 😉

dark twisted and delicious can see all the homages to classic horror films also 1930's freaks it reminded me too of carnivale which is a superb but sadly no longer with us tv series, highly recommend if you like the surreal and macabre with excellent performances from all the cast, jessica lange oozes a narcissistic persona which you love to hate....... warning you will get addicted to it with only one viewing!

A fourth outing for the repertory company, familiar cast impressively in different roles. Focus is now on a creepy fair, especially its Freak Show booth. Included among the many on exhibit are the ultra tall, very tiny, arms deformed by Thalidomide, a bearded lady, one with two heads, another moving swiftly although without legs. All have endured much, but are now united as a family, swift to act if anybody threatens their own.By the end of the thirteen episodes (in fact long before then) we are made to realize these are not the freaks. Far more scary are characters outwardly normal, but much so disturbing within.Cynics may feel the season represents shameless exploitation. It is nothing of the kind. Admittedly an aim is to unsettle, gore much in evidence, humour deliciously black. Example? (SMALL SPOILER AHEAD!) A smother-mother's reaction on discovering her grown-up son has slaughtered the maid. "Go to your room. And stay there."As always, the entire cast enters into the spirit of the thing, headed by another real tour de force by Jessica Lange (her Elsa a kind of bargain basement Dietrich, with a secret that comes as a shock).Bonuses are well worth a look. How exactly were those two heads achieved? (Sarah Paulson is never likely to play a more demanding role.) In the "Extra-Ordinary Artists" feature several describe how they have come to terms with their condition, the one who plays Paul especially positive and articulate. (Movingly this segment is dedicated to the memory of one of their number killed in an accident.)Much to unnerve and to enjoy, especially when villains get their comeuppance. Most important, viewers are encouraged perhaps more than ever before not to judge by appearances. Freaks are here most certainly, but they are not the ones who look so different from the rest of us.Arguably the best season so far.

I LOVE AMERICAN HORROR STORY. This is an amazing box set, as always american horror story out done them selves. This product arrived on time and worked on both my normal TV and blue ray DVD player. Would recommend this to anyone who likes AHS, or any other horror based show.

I bought this item as a gift for my daughter, she was very delighted to receive it. She has watched it again and again, still going strong.

Not as good as the other three. But still enjoyable with good scares and jumps along the way. was a bit confusing at times to what was real and what wasn't.

The show starts slowly going down hill after this season but this is almost a remake of the legendary movie freaks from the 30s

This was excellent horror series. It was gory though.

Mi unico comentario es que lanruedita que sostiene al bluray llego rota.Es un caso que aveces pasa con las cajas de bluray pero el disco estaba sin rayones y funciona perfectamente. La calidad es optima.
