Saltverk Salt Gift Set - 4pk - Flaky, Lava, Birch Smoked, Arctic Thyme

Bought this for my mom as a stocking stuffer and it was a hit. She loves cooking, and this opened her eyes to how many types of salt there are. You can really taste the difference.

Gift set is a good price for the amount you get. I've tried a few other more premium salts but the birch salt that is included with this gift set is next level. It's beyond good and I'm using it probably a bit more than I should. The lava salt is a bit sweeter for a salt which is kind of interesting, but I don't think I'll use it as universally as the normal salt and birch salt. The Arctic Thyme flavor is definitely punchy on the nose but has a more mild taste when actually using it. It's probably the least universal of the set but still a lot of great uses, specifically in Italian cuisine.

I cannot recommend the Thyme and Sea Salt enough - it is delicious and perfect to sprinkle on all types of meat. The quality is top notch and delicious. We purchased this as a holiday gift for a woman who seems to have everything. She loves to cook, so we paired it with a book on the history of salt. It was a hit! She is still raving about it and these salts! Well-packaged and presentable, we would not hesitate to purchase again. If you have a cook in your life, or enjoy cooking yourself, these salts are a fun way to play around with your food and come up with new recipes or add an unexpected "kick" to existing ones.

These 4 salt varieties are delicious. I would give this product a 5 star rating, but the packaging is awful. Cheap thin cardboard that was already broken open when I opened the Amazon box. It truly is a miracle that none of the bottles were broken with being fragile glass and just being tossed around in a box. The Saltverk company really needs to look into better packaging. The glass bottles need a sturdy cardboard box to keep the bottles safely in place for shipping. Then there would be less products being damaged, thus making more customers happy.

This salt has been one of my all time favorite salts for a long time and for good reason. Its really sweet in taste and has a light flaky feel to it that makes you savor the bites. I bought the gift set because all together its cheaper then each one sold separately. The salt itself has no carbon footprint and is also really pure in minerals and in taste. I do hope eventually that they don't use metal equipment but t be honest I had never milled or raked salt to know how the methods are operated. I just know from reading and from other salt producers that they don't use metal because the salt breaks down metal. So they would only use wood or possibly use just their hands. All in all the salt deserves a 5 for being so tasty and sweet. Almost unheard of in this bitter world. The price is pretty expensive and would have warranted a star off but quality demands hard effort and hard effort demands the proper payment. Well deserved. Thank you
