I thought this would be exactly like Spam, but it is not. It is very much corn beef. It is not a pureed meat; it has texture and the stringiness of beef. The flavor is of a salty corned beef, but really not overly salty. I have arthritis so it is really hard for me to open cans. But this one, with its own little crank works great! It is a LOT easier to open than a can opener version. The can comes completely full, and it is really a nice lunch meat. I would indeed recommend this to friends. I think it would be a great item for camping or backpacking.

I would give this item 5 stars for the quality and taste of the corned beef but had to take away a star because not all the cans come with the key attached to open it. It was a hassle to save the key from a just opened can, first unwinding then to save it use it to open cans that didn't come with a key. Also knowing when to purchase this item became a huge factor because of the ever changing price fluctuation. One day it's at $3.99 then next day it's $6.99 for the exact same product. After purchasing this several times now, I have kept tabs on it and have always waited for the price drop before ordering it. But I can honestly say that this is one of the best tasting corned beef out there and If not for the key issue, I would give this 5 stars. I still highly recommend it.

I always order this brand and typically in 3 to 5 cans. I noticed this latest order of 3 cans had all 3 tin keys missing. Is this a coincidence or is the key now a separate purchase? Luckily I had a pair of pliers nearby which I used to pull the tab to open the can. Got to be careful, these cans, once opened, have sharp edges.

Item content was just fine. However, this (12 oz.) Iberia Corned Beef product did not arrive with a turn key. It can still be opened with a can opener, but leaves jagged, rough edges. The can is easier to open with the small metal key attached to the right side, as it allows the bottom of the can to be rolled back. Once the key is released, it hooks on the side tab, and can be twisted clockwise to unwind the lid allowing the meat block to slide out easily. In the photo the key appears, so it was disappointing not to have it arrive with the product.
