If you really want a movie that is so much like the story of Jesus's birth; this is it. You will enjoy how touching and spiritual it is. I watch it every year and love it more every time.

Great movie

I have had this DVD since it was first released and I have watched it every year several times at Christmas Season. Beautifully acted ... Joseph and Mary are so young and innocent. I absolutely love the scene at the moment of Christ's birth ... The killing of the innocent babies by Herod is a little raw with brutality. This scene is not meant to be watched by young children. It is a precious movie in my collection.

A wonderful and captivating portrayal of the birth of Jesus - a must-see during Christmas time

I saw a part of it during a church service over Christmas break, and I decided to watch the whole movie via Amazon prime. I was not disappointed at all, and I was actually surprised by how accurate it really was. It’s not like a lot of those nativity movies, you see where they almost seem to have a Disney twist to them, but this one was actually very accurate to the time period that the story was in.

Loved this movie. It's pretty close to our beliefs. A little loose with some facts. Still a good show.

In “The Nativity Story,” director Catherine Hardwicke takes a stab at telling the story of the conception and birth of baby Jesus and concurrently, the story of the birth of John the Baptist. With Keisha Castle-Hughes as Mary, Oscar Isaac as Joseph, and Ciarán Hinds as King Herod the Great, the movie takes you along the story of the birth of the son of God and the massacre of the innocents.The movie begins with the extremely well-known Massacre of the Innocents, during which King Herod the Great ordered the execution of the young boys under the age of two in Bethlehem in hopes of killing the future king. After the showing of the massacre, the movie backtracks to the story of Jesus’ conception and birth.A year before the massacre Zachariah, the Archangel Gabriel tells him that Elizabeth, his wife, is to have a son. Zachariah expresses his doubts, saying that he and his wife are too old to have a child. The angel then tells him that for his doubt, he will be mute until the birth of his child. Around this same time, Mary, who is promised to marry Joseph, also gets a visit from the Archangel and he tells her that she will bear the son of God and that she will name him Jesus.Mary is afraid of going home pregnant as she foresees that she will be accused of fornication for she is pregnant but a virgin. Joseph, doubtful of her story, does not want to be with her but does not want to accuse her because if she were accused of fornication she could be stoned to death. Later on, the Archangel Gabriel visits him in a dream and tells him that was Mary says is true and he decides to stick by her side.The king orders a census and so Joseph and a pregnant Mary have to travel to Bethlehem, as it is the place of his birth, and upon their arrival, Mary goes into labor. The three Magi the king sent to find Mary find her giving birth in the stable and present her new baby with gold, frankincense, and myrrh. The Magi avoid the king on their way home, suspicious of what he wants with the new Messiah which leads to the massacre from the beginning of the movie. Mary and Joseph get out before, however, and Jesus is safe.I personally really enjoyed the movie and would recommend it to my mother or a friend that is more interested in religious stories. I liked that the movie tried to stay true to the interactions described in the bible between the angel Gabriel and everyone else.

Die Erstattung ging aufgrund des Mißverständnisses des Verkäufers leicht und schnell vonstatten. Ich brauchte den "falschen Film" nicht zurück nach England zu schicken, da die Rücksendekosten höher gewesen wären, als der Wert des Filmes. Von daher bin ich mit dem Service doch sehr zufrieden.

Es una excelente película, que intenta retratar la época y el contexto histórico que se vivía en Palestina durante el nacimiento de Jesús. Muy sobria y apegada a las Escrituras, pero con los toques de narración adecuados para que no sea tan aburrida. Gran actuación de José (Oscar Isaac; ¡Poe Dameron!) y de la chica que interpreta a María. La recomiendo ampliamente.

The media could not be loaded.  Heartwarming and Beautiful Movie for an Epic & Timeless story. Very inspirational and definitely keeps the audience’s attention. Very reflective as well. It has become a tradition to watch this every Christmas.
