Nice Functional...only had a 2 year life span
Update it broke the main bar support underneath only made it 2 yrs...plus it shifted my mattress constantly annoying... Still works but for someone who uses it under the support weight I'm disappointed I'm old & live with a bad back condition that often leaves me bedridden I like the bed rail do not get me wrong especially the little outside pockets but you have to be very careful because the pens that line up to lock it in is rather fragile I'm in a new home & the lock pins are rusted so I don't lower it I just keep it up all the time... the neat thing about this item is it does have a button to where you can extend it out way past your knees because often I have to sleep on my left side I use it to prop myself up with the only thing that I do not like about it is it makes my queen size mattress shift it always manages to scoot the top of the mattress from the headboard I'm old and frail I can't push it back so my husband with bad back & bad knees we constantly now have to adjust the mattress because when we inserted & put it together the bars underneath were not flat that's why it shifts the diameter of the bars that go between bed & mattress are big solid round rods.... even though it had a lock in strap it's still shifts my queen mattress that can be rather annoying when you are bedridden... overall it's a good bed rail much better than anything else that I was able to find and it also has pockets on the inside I don't recommend removing the cover it's well made & functional I put my things in the pockets it holds my ChapStick snacks glasses cell phones little rags socks tissues flash light etc.... the cover for it is brilliant well-made and it has yet to rip or tear or give me any grief I highly recommend it but with this you will have to shift your mattress around and I do have concerns about the rubbing of the box spring that it sits on it will make your mattress slide.... I usually can go about 3 days and then I have to adjust the bed because I'm up and down or I am in it all the time but other than that it's holding up I'm rather heavy when I put all my weight on it it's very sturdy & helps me to stay put at night... it helps me to get up as I grab it to get myself straight up out of bed as I said before I have a very bad back if you need a bed rail to prop yourself on during sleep then this is the one that I would recommend when I have to sleep on my right side I put a pillow in front of my chest then I can rest my hand on top of the pillow & rail.. when I sleep on my left side I put my orthopedic pillow that's fitted to my body up against the railing and then I put a soft pillow for my lumbar I'm a hefty kind of gal I got a couple pounds on me that I rather not say but let's just say that this thing can take a lot of wear & tear hold up to 300 lbs especially with me getting up down or putting all my weight on it at night when I have to lay on my bad side because of my back condition... I can't always sleep on my right side sometimes I have to sleep on my left side luckily because of the bar I'm able to sleep on my left side because it holds the pillows in that support me during sleep again the only gripe I have is that it will make your mattress shift... I have to push it in front forward and then I have to get my husband to go to the end of the bed and shove it Forward I didn't know that when I purchased this but it was not a deal breaker because it was something that I needed since I have become quite elderly infirmed and often bedridden it is good & sturdy I don't recommend laying it down... Unless you're still in good health & you don't need balance but the thing that worries me & why I don't lower mine during the day 1st the design flaw is when you lower it every thing falls out the pockets.... it's because those little pins they have to line up and if they don't line up you could very well break them off... so in order to avoid that I would recommend also to keep the bed railing up at all times it is a good product it's well made I'm kind of glad that I got it it was expensive but trust me I've get good use out of it as I write this right now I am leaning on it for support...But it won't last long as it's portrayed as medical grade ITS NOT! I paid over $100 for this & I guess I got 2 yrs out of it sadly disappointed...

Gets the job done
Purchased this bed rail to prevent my 90 year old father from rolling out of bed in the middle of the night. It seems that because of a bad back he could not push himself far enough away from the side of the bed to sleep comfortably. As a result, he would sleep at the edge of the mattress and eventually roll off onto the floor bruising himself. After much discussion back and forth, he agreed to get a bed rail. His main concern was being able to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. After reviewing a number of products, we decided to get this one. Glad we did. It is well made and slides open to 3 different lengths. This feature allows my father to extend the rail when he goes to sleep and slide it back if he has to get up. Where we installed it on his bed, near the head prevents him from using the drop away feature as the night table prevents the rail from moving too far, but it does not matter s he slides the rail back when he gets up. An added bonus is that the rail as installed is sturdy enough for him to use to help get out of bed or get into bed so he no longer sleeps on the edge of the mattress. A cautionary word about the installation. While the assembly is straightforward, the installation may require two people. There is a strap that needs to go between the mattress and box spring to attach to the opposite bedrail. If you are elderly or don't have the strength to move the mattress and lift the box spring, you may need a second person to install this rail. Otherwise, the product works as described, seems well made and was worth the price compared to the competition.

Clever design, very easy to assemble and install and extremely sturdy. A must have for elderly!
I love this adjustable bed rail! It was very easy to assemble, very easy to install and seems very sturdy. We love the way it easily snaps down during the day or when bed linen needs changing. This is a must have for older people like us who can really hurt themselves just by falling out of bed while asleep.

EZ Adjust Bed Rail, easy to use.
Great product, very easy to put together and use. It is strong and I feel confident using it as a safety rail. I did have a couple of problems with using it on the bed that we put it on, we have a slat bed not an ensemble so I needed to put a piece of ply wood to cover the slat area that the frame sits on under the mattress as it wobbled too much without it. We also have a Latex Mattress and they seem to be thinner than a normal mattress. Because the mattress is thinner, the of that the part of the bed rail that comes up the side of the mattress where the safety rail is hinged to sits higher than the mattress. Our Mattress is about 2/3 of the thickness of the mattress in the picture used to display the product. So a couple of times it has been sat on, "ouch" that hurts the back of the thigh, lucky it was just the thigh. The slat bed also sits lower to the ground than an ensemble and when the side rail is down it doesn't go right down and is a trip hazard, clearance needs to be approx 35cm or more (ours is 31cm) for it to drop straight down in line with the bed. Also the slat bed has a lip around the base that the mattress sits in,and this lip also stops the rail from dropping straight down (no solution for this problem). I purchase one only (our issue was falling out of bed while sleeping so we need one on each side of the bed) to see what it was like and am using it as a permanent fixture on the side of the bed that isn't used for getting in or out off. I have made out of timber another safety rail that works better for the bed we have as I couldn't find anything else. I'm female and not skilled at making things at all but was lucky and it worked out well. Now back to the EZ Adjust Bed Rail - the design, strength and function ability of the Easy Rail is great and I would highly recommend it for the right bed and mattress. Thanks, hoped this helped.

This bed rail is great, east to put together, and is very secure when the strap is tightened. Its heavy duty, because of the support it gives when holding on to the top of the frame to aid in getting in and out of bed, I bought this for my husband as he has fallen out of bed, and this has helped him tremendously, as there is no more worries of him falling again, plus this bed frame stays where its placed, I totally recommend this
