Superb!
Great book for a backpacker. Provides very detailed, true and helpful info. It also mentions interesting and cheap hostels and etaries around locations. Brought it for a backpacking trip to uttarakhand. Worth every penny.

Always wanted to explore North India as a solo traveller and LPI guided me to complete my journey successfully. It's just a start of my journey. Will keep referring this book for many more expeditions. Thank you for all the Authors and the Publications. Appreciate all your efforts.

Work out how you'll use it ...
It is useful book though unfortunately when travelling with lots of valuable information though an actually book to write in train/ bus times, or hotel/ restaurant numbers etc in is far easier. It's quicker to flick through pages than screens.Think about how you might use the information - will you want to add notes? Probably easier to get a paper copy to do so. If just for reading in bed the night before a day trip somewhere or at a restaurant for lunch planning next trip then e-version might be fine.

Informative and easy to read
Great book. Loads of info and easy to read and use. I will be taking this around india this december and I look forward to reading it in depth. I particularly like the history bits as they give me some context for the sightseeing

Big book
This book is epic in size - great for planning before you go away - but don't think you can slot this one in your bag when you going travelling, it is massive. Standard, great book with piles of information from Lonely Planet. Perfect.

Not as good as they used to be
I've bought lonely planet books for years and used them as travel bibles and always praised them for their content. However,Upon two recent travel occasions now I have read articles in them and received bad recommendations. In the India book the kebab shop that we eventually found was past its best to say the least. And in the Berlin book one of the maps was incorrect locating a beer restaurant we eventually gave up upon finding because where it stated it was was different to where it actually was.Shall be looking for new travel guides in future.
