It works well for this application, as I leave the scooper in the salt tub. For someone that might have this out… Let's say in a bar setting...this might not be aesthetically pleasing. From a functional standpoint, it works perfectly and measures 4 ounces. I can imagine that if you were going to use this on really hard ice it may flex and bend. The material is pretty thin. I included some pictures to give you a better idea. I hope this helped you make a decision.

This product is perfectly fine. It was suggested as a "commonly purchased with" item with First Build Nugget Ice Machine, but it's too big to get a good scoop out of the ice bucket. You can only get a few nuggies. I ended up using the perfectly sized scoop that came with the machine instead.

This scoop turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. After my ice chute iced over, I had to obtain cubes by opining the freezer and reaching in. Needless to say I felt I was risking frostbite every time I wanted a cool drink.I switched to using our kitchen tongs, but that was a little tedious. Using a regular or measuring cup was a turnoff. Then I noticed this lovely, shiny scoop, which was also excellently priced! I could not resist it! " I put this beautiful, yet practical item on my "Needs, not Wants" List. I waited for 2 or 3 days, concerned it might be dull and cheap looking, or worse yet, it's mere 4 ounce capacity would be woefully inadequate for my varied cube sizes. I was pleasantly surprised that this scoop turned out to be the perfect size, it shines like a mirror and dare I say it? I got this scoop to discourage people putting their hands into the ice bin in my freezer. I placed the order based on price and later read some reviews that said it was way too small, so I was regretting my decision. However, when the scoop arrived it was a great size. Four ounces (half a cup) is not big if you are thinking of a measuring cup, but as a flattened scoop the size is just right. I keep it in my icemaker's reservoir, it doesn't get in the way, and it grabs 3-4 cubes per scoop (the long, semi-circular type cubes). I might need two scoops for a 12-oz size glass, more if I'm drinking from a really big tall glass.As to the handle, I don't find it uncomfortable to grab. Obviously a rounded handle or one that is not metal would be slightly more comfortable. However, neither the shape of the handle nor the cold from it really make a difference in my ice-obtaining experience: they are not something that would make me return or rate down this product.

The quality of the material for this particular scooper is perfect easy to clean the perfect size to pick up quite a few bits of ice. Comfortable to hold in your hand. it looks sleek and smooth when you hang it on the side of like an icemaker

I mean, it’s $6- what do you expect.It’s better than the plastic one that comes with the ice machine. That, and the price earn it 3 stars. It’s a star equivalent to a C-. The metal is thin and the handle uncomfortable. It’s a cheap scoop that if someone throws away I won’t be upset. I suppose it’s an excellent disposable scoop.
