Work Buds in-Ear True Wireless Headset with Detachable Noise-Canceling Boom Mic, Black, Long 55+ Total Hours Playtime, Bluetooth Multipoint, USB-C Charging Dock

I work in Information Technology (IT). That means I might have to take a call on little or no notice. I also do a full week of being on-call IT Engineer now and again. But I really like the portability of true-wireless earbuds. It's just that I haven't had the best voice call experience with them. So far, with these, people don't know I'm using earbuds. And they are an excellent price compared to "full headset" Bluetooth audio with a boom microphone like the admittedly excellent Plantronics headsets. But, then, they surprised me. I don't know whether it's something with my ears, or my luck with these kinds of earbuds, I've never found earbuds that provide an equal experience in each of ears. Even the Samsung Pro buds, one is significantly louder and more clear than the other. To the point that listening to music never "feels" stereo. Not so these ones. The pair I have play the same in each ear, so the listening to audio feels like an honest stereo experience. And they surprised me. In the Winter (so far), my jaunts outside have been a bit chaotic for unimportant reasons, but I've left my phone inside while I stepped outside. A second floor ranch-style condo. Music has played up to 3 meters **from the building.** That's well beyond the promise of JLab or of the Bluetooth standard in general. Audio isn't perfect, but I'm not a seeker after perfect audio. It suits me, though I note the Bass does fade out as the battery starts to drain. The controls aren't bad, but neither would I call them intuitive. Ta the right bud to raise volume, the left one to lower, not bad. But a press-and-hold to end or to reject a call? That's not terrible, mind you. Just not intuitive. The boom mic is really good, and can be used plugged in to either bud, with a pop-in port cover for the bud that doesn't have the mic plugged in. There's a case to place the buds into for charging and for storage during travel. The case has its own battery, which has charged them up to full charge once. I've not tested how many times that will work. The top of the case fully removes, I've dropped it a couple of times when removing. Can't say it isn't my own fumble fingers, though. It has a magnetic plate, and will stay in place underneath the bud mounting half if you've not going anywhere. There's a channel into which the mic can lay when still attached to the buds (see picture). In fact, I have a very minor nit to pick that there's no easy way to store the mic without keeping it plugged into one of the buds. Something about the way the buds sit in the charging case feels a bit off. I keep setting the one without the mic in backwards. And I drop them about 30% of the time when removing. That might be me, though, as I cannot identify why I have that difficulty. I'm very happy with these buds. Way more than I expected from US$60 true wireless earbuds. Highly recommended.

TL;DR: Get these if you are prioritizing microphone quality - they really are the only good option out there, especially in this form factor. I see quite a few negative reviews on these earbuds, and I believe it's because people have the wrong expectation. If you're looking for work earbuds that are portable and sound clear on calls, these are it. Some may be better for certain situations (e.g. Shockz) but are either more expensive, less portable, or both. These provide you with decent audio and a microphone that is comparable to using your phone directly. They do not produce audiophile-qulity sound. They are the ONLY alternative to a clunky headset or external microphone that I've found so far, and my tests have included some very expensive earbuds as well as earpiece-style devices that should have done better (e.g. Plantronics Voyager). With that in mind, pros and cons below: Pros: - Great microphone (by bluetooth headphone standards) - Good enough audio quality for conversations or basic recreational use - Great battery life, both in-use and from the case - USB-C charging (unlike Plantronics which uses a proprietary charger) - Comfortable, and stays in ear, especially with the help of included adjustable fins - Bluetooth Multipoint. For a headset at this price point, this is a fantastic feature and works well across my MacBook and Android phone. - Removable microphone so you can use them like regular buds - Small and looks more modern than a full on headset when worn - Price. I got these when they were on sale for ~$40, but at their full price of $80 I still think they are worth it - Customizable controls (although they are still pretty bad, see below) Cons: - The case is enormous and not pocketable at all. If you're carrying it, you need some kind of bag. The 55+ hour rated battery life is great, but I'd much rather half that and be able to put it in my pocket. - The case cover is magnetic, and feels a bit weak. I worry it will come off if I throw it in a bag, but so far it's been fine - Controls are dreadful - I don't love the tap control for everything. e.g. tap once for volume up, twice for volume down, etc. With only one tap surface and no swipe controls, I would have preferred physical buttons. I basically need to use the host device (e.g. phone/laptop) to control the volume. These are customizable but the premise of having to tap something potentially 3 times is pretty annoying, and the detection of taps isn't great either. - Proper in-ear detection. It seems like a software choice, because in-ear detection works when you first take them out of the case (they don't connect until you put them in your ear), but they don't disconnect when you remove them. This is kind of a nitpick and normally I wouldn't even include this, but it is preventing me from using a smaller case without the charger. The minute I put them in my ear, they will connect and stay connected unless I manually disconnect them from my device, or put them into a the charging case.

Have had these for over a year now and use them almost daily - they are my go-to headphones for work calls and calls from the car because the boom mic does a great job of screening out non-vocal background noise. But I am docking a star because 1) the case design is annoying, and 2) it doesn't play well with Windows/Teams. If you hold the case such that the R and L labels are right-side up, the R is on the left and L is on the right - not intuitive. And if I hold the case upside down so the labels are on the right sides, I then have to turn the headphones in upside down (i.e., earbud end pointing up) from the way they were in my ear before I can put them into the case. Minor annoyance but awkward and still slows me down in putting them in every time. The Windows/Teams issue is possibly not JLab's fault; the headphones work just fine with my iPhone and MacBook. But on the HP they sometimes (but not always - I don't get it) take several seconds to connect, and while the computer is trying to connect to them, the Teams audio completely freezes - I can't even use the built-in mic & speakers. So I have to open the Bluetooth settings EVERY DAY to proactively make sure the connection is solid a couple minutes before I join a call, otherwise I will be late to the call (or on time but unable to hear or speak). And then I often leave them off the charger unless I know I won't be on a call for a while, because if they're charging they'll disconnect and I'll have to do the settings thing again. Workable, and obviously I am still using them every day because I love the boom mic, but makes me hate the HP!

I really, really wanted to like these. They are at this writing the ONLY device in this form factor - wireless earbuds with boom mic. And they seemed built well. My reasons for returning, in order of most to least importance: 1. They can NOT be trusted for Teams calls. In the morning they connected fine. In the afternoon they appeared to connect but yielded nothing but dead air (and no mic function) in a Teams call. Yes, they appeared in the Teams drop down and yes they were over 60% charged and yes they COULD play other system audio and browser audio (YouTube) at that same time from the same PC. But in Teams, dead air. I wanted to blame the PC or MS Teams so I tried another Bluetooth headset - no problems at all in the same Teams session. About 10-15 minutes after I'd given up, the meeting was past, and I was doing other things, I heard the bud, still sitting in my right ear, say "JLab On". How could this happen? Without the case, these buds can't be turned on or off other than by timing out, and I hadn't disconnected them! Even if they'd timed out, how did they turn ON by themselves? I wasn't touching anything. Conclusion: they had been slowly crashing and ended up rebooting themselves. Memory leak due to multipoint, maybe. I noticed that after they did this, the "Advanced Sound Properties" were available again in Windows Control Panel (it had been missing before), and sure enough they worked again in Teams. Wonky and unreliable behavior. 2. Sound quality really isn't very good. I didn't immediately notice, but I thought something was wrong with a podcast and that the host had a poor setup for the episode, maybe calling in from a hotel. I happened to swap in my old sub-$15 earbuds and the sound became MUCH better, and not hollow. Yes, I've tried all the equalizer and other options in the app. The sound on these is just adequate. 3. The boom mic really doesn't help all that much. In my own testing (making a few voice recordings) I thought it sounded better WITHOUT the boom attached (yes the on-buds mics work without the boom). But when calling another person they told me the boom helped make it sound more like a phone call and not a speakerphone. So even while in Teams calls I was told I sound "tinny", I was going to keep using them with the boom for the noise isolation... until the dead air issue mentioned above. 4. The inability to mute. I was hoping they'd add an option in the app, but even after updating app and firmware, nope. 5. The case is, as others mentioned, weird. It's not really gigantic, but it's just barely pocketable. The boom is theoretically the only reason this couldn't be a normal size case, and yet the boom is very slender, small, and flexible. This could have been way more compact. (And since you can't readily turn the buds off/on without the case, it's awkward traveling without it.) Again, I was expecting/hoping to love this thing. I don't like hanging things on my ears, I don't like big headphones over my head and muffling my ears, and I want to be heard clearly on calls. This was going to be the sweet spot solution for my work and leisure needs. But... nope. I hope JLab takes another crack at these; they are a unique and valuable product idea. Pros: the app is straightforward and button remapping works. (I disliked the defaults.) The buds pair quickly and are mostly functional in Android without the app. They are light and comfortable, although much larger than my usual cheap earbuds (which have superior sound and fit, but terrible mics). I don't have the quite same complaints as others here, but these are not worth it for me.

Someone recommended these to me for work and I am a fan. The basics are all there - the charging case is sturdy, it can store both the earbuds and the boom mic, comes with all the ear tips and other pieces to make them fit right. But probably the best thing about these is that they can connect to multiple devices. So I can listen to music from my computer and then answer a call from my phone without any nonsense. The earbuds stay connected and jump to whatever device is needed. You can also use just one earbud at a time if you want to have the other ear available to talk to people in the office without having to remove them. And the boom mic is directional, noise cancelling, and picks up your voice really well. Regarding some of the few dings people are giving: As a former audio engineer, I am not sure why people are saying the sound isn't anything but great. When playing music, the bass is full and sound is clear. EQ and other settings can be easily changed with the phone app. And while the earbuds themselves are not noise cancelling, the fit is good enough that these work great on a plane and they don't hurt my ears over time, which has not been the case with other earbuds I've had. The only small improvement they could make - I notice that some of their other models have an integrated charging cable. That might have been a nice little feature, but I have plenty of charging cables all over so not a big deal at all (and probably just one less thing to break). Recommended!

Very quiet. I have volume up all the way at all times. I want to like these ear buds, I like the boom mic for when I use them in a vehicle. But still it’s soo annoying that I can’t run them up to a normal volume. I used the jlab app to adjust the level of volume allowed and it’s already maxed out. Also the little wings on the earbuds to help keep the earbuds in your ear are a great idea but they are too hard. The medium ones are too small, the earbuds fall out of my ears. The large ones would be fine if they weren’t so hard. They hurt my ears after a while. If they were softer or spongier and had more give it would be more comfortable. Between the two issues I would say the volume is the biggest problem. I’m constantly trying to push the earbuds into my ear because they are so quiet. I think they have dislodged or are partially out of my ear canal because of how quiet they are but they are secure in my ears, just super quiet. Also I only use one earbud in my ear with the boom mic attached at a time so I can rotate between the two buds to have continuous usage while the other one charges. I’m hoping they might send a firmware update to enable more volume otherwise I’ll continue to look for a better option. I was going to buy 2 sets of these earbuds if the first set worked as I’d hoped. But the volume level makes them barely usable.

Got this to upgrade my work set up and it works very great. Love that the battery last so long and it looks good. The volume and sounds are good and it fits well with my tiny ear. It's very lightweight, mic and switch anytime and very easy to connect and use. I think it worth the price.

PROS: - Does what I need: act as earphones and has a decent mic for calls. - the mic is easy to connect to whichever earphone you want - answering calls is easy, although I always forget to use the "button" - After connecting to a device one time, all you have to do is click "JLab Work Buds" on the device you want to use, and they connect easy. - Better than carrying around my gaming headset size-wise. - Once you know what left and right buttons do, it's nice to have that many options. I'd rather use an app though. - After you go through all the different sizes for the ear marshmallows and wings, they're SUPER comfortable. Never fall out, despite rolling around after you twist them in. - Battery seems to last quite a while. I've had them for more than 3 months, and I've only needed to charge once. Doesn't drain battery to not use them either! Many devices do these days. CONS: - Left (L) and Right (R) earbuds are not intuitive to put away considering they're on the opposite side to put away. - pairing to a new device is a hassle. If you want to pair to more than two devices, you have to turn off every other device it MAY or MAY NOT connect to. Considering everything connects to Bluetooth these days (ie: my Steam Deck, Switch, iPad, Computer, Cellphone), I had to go through and literally turn off all of the Bluetooth on all my devices to connect to a certain device. - "Multi-device" only means you'll be able to take a call and switch between devices seamlessly. You can't listen to both devices at the same time (ex: listening to music on your phone, while connected to a gaming device). One at a time still. Found out the hard way lol - Case is BULKY. I included a picture to show how large the case is. Not as slick as carrying around a smaller Airpods. - You have to memorize what each bud does individually.

They are great.

I put these on my wishlist last week and thought I might get them when I come back from maternity leave, as the reviews are mixed. However, when I saw they'd gone down to £29.99 from £79.99 I thought I'd taken the risk for my last month of work. I really needed a good mic for meetings so now I've had a couple today and checked people could hear me ok (including my honest manager) I can recommend them! It was easy to connect to my HP Elite book through Bluetooth, and the charging case is handy for storing them between calls but as another review said it's more of a stand if you leave the mic on as you can't close it. The mic comes on and off and can be coiled inside the case in its own space if needing to travel with them. For under £30 these are definitely good value for work, I wouldn't think they'd be great for listening to music but I have others for that with a rubbish mic.
