Wonderful book..... however do NOT buy the Kindle edition!
I purchased the Kindle edition of this book. It is a wonderfully engaging book, and I was deeply involved in it when I reached a section of the book in which there were several dozen images. Each of the images, drawings, was described by the author of the book. However, in the kindle version of the book, all of the images are grouped together, and the analysis of the images is located elsewhere in the book. Perhaps the paper version of the book is the same. But, as any Kindle reader knows, it is extremely difficult to flip back and forth through an e-book multiple times. I ended up giving up on this exercise and will now order the paper version of this book.I'm amazed that the e-book was not arranged so that each image is presented together with the descriptive analysis. That just seems logical. So, to recap..... this is a Wonderful Book and you ought not be discouraged from reading it by reason of the e-book version being disorganized.

When traditional medicine doesn't work
This is an amazing book and so needed in this time as traditional medicine ceases to exist in the way we know it. Our bodies know how to heal themselves without the toxic medicines we use now. Dr. Bernie Siegal has unlocked the mystery of healing ourselves, using our own energy.

I wanted to love this book
I'm in the process of healing, and I hoped this would be a good book to encourage me on my journey. The first chapter or so seemed to be just that, citing Jung and Joseph Campbell, two of my heroes and talking about how our thoughts affect our health, but it loses me soon after. When he starts rambling on and on about Kubler-Ross's stages of grief and hospice and facing death, I began scanning ahead and soon put the book on the shelf, but I'll probably throw it in the trash. I'm not preparing myself to die! I'm getting back into my healthy life. And the dream interpretation and drawing exercises (also referring to Kubler-Ross and her dire interpretations) are pure bunk. I'm a counselor, and it's easy for anyone to set himself or herself up as the "authority" and say that happy fish jumping in the pool is "a fish out of water" and means you're lost. Or snow capped mountains in a naturescape, of course you're hiding something. Dream and art interpretations aren't that cut and dried, and the dreamer or artist should be brought into the process, to find out for himself what they mean, not a flat pronouncement that says this is what's "wrong" with you. And so I give it one star for the first chapter, (and because you can't give zero stars) but I'll just go back to my old friends, Jung and Campbell, who draw me along the paths of self-discovery and healing at my own pace. When I'm completely healed, maybe I'll write my own Art of Healing book.

Bernie does it again
I love Bernie Siegel's work. I have been privileged to be a participant in several of his workshops, talks and professional training.Years ago he touched me so deeply with his earlier books," Love, Medicine and Miracles" and "Peace Love and Healing". I then went on to use some of his guided meditations. He is a deeply loving and caring human being who reaches out to his patients and gives them what every doctor should, genuine concern and compassion. This book is easy to read and will help anyone who is facing an illness to find new ways to better understand and heal through drawings, dreams, the love of pets, family and friends as well as through the healing power of laughter. A must read!

pure love for this book!
I picked up this book in a time of confusion as I'd been dealing with a health issue for some time. I came to find this book to be my friend and to help me sleep at night. Just a few pages and I'd feel better every time. I love Bernie Siegel! I too have had amazing miracles like the ones he describes but until reading this book I'd doubt them or diminish their significance. I feel so spiritually lifted after reading this book. Thank you to the village that put it together! I'm going to start drawing to discover some things unseen.Brooklin B in LA
