Under the Roses Lenormand

The cards are beautiful.. This is my first Lenormand deck and since I am used to using Tarot decks I found this a bit smaller but looks so cute and so easy to shuffle.. it got delivered to me amid all the covid restrictions and well on time. First, I would like to say the product is good and reached on time. This is my first Lenormand deck. I bought it on a whim not knowing what lenormand cards are all about but I must say this is the best deck of all that I have so far. I assumed they must be regular tarot with different names. But of course after researching a bit on getting this deck, I realized this is completely different. Unlike regular Tarot, I soon found that lenormand cards give specific answers to your questions. Eerily though, the answers most of the times turned out to be accurate. For those who are new to lenormand, this deck has 39 cards with 3 cards extra in the form of gentleman, lady and child. The deck is usually read with 36 cards so you can remove the 3 extra cards before shuffling. The lenormand cards are smaller than regular tarot keeping in view the 'grand tableau' spread that requires all 36 cards to be placed on the desk. If you prefer direct answers in your readings rather than vague intuitive interpretations, go for this deck.

A couple of my tarot friends initially got me interested in lenormand readings about a couple of months back. When window shopping for a deck, came across Under The Roses. What I liked best about the cards are the wonderful beige and brown coloring which makes them look classically old. It is this feature that made me choose it over another which has been rated 5/5 almost in every place where it was reviewed. It is great that there are 3 alternate sets of cards provided for the Lady, Gentleman and Child cards. The quality of the cards are pretty good and very faint printing of the key words in the background is sometimes helpful without being distracting (seems I got needlessly worried after that they could be after reading someone's negative feedback on another site). There are things that I found which were on the negatives for me. The LWB would be okay for those who have been reading lenormands for a while or would consult another book. For new readers it isn't much of a help. Unlike tarot, lenormand cards needs to be read in pairs and combinations. the LWB doesn't even provide the basic combination list. Being used to shuffling big tarot decks like classic RWS and Golden Tarot (by Kat Black), these cards seems minuscule. It will take a bit of a time for me to get used to shuffling them comfortably. Another small problem is that I started with familiar lenormand card names like Book / Man / Woman / Heart / Birds / Tower / Scythe / Coffin, before buying the deck. So, it took a little while getting familiar with the terms Journal (Book), Locket (Heart), Owl (Birds) and Grave (Coffin), rest were kind of easy to switch over though. Have already done several readings with this deck for others and the feedback was really positive and have recommended another friend to buy it.

A perfect lenormand deck

Have never seen such perfection in readings. It is my first lenormand Card and Am happy I chose Lenormancy. Inspite of being a tarot reader, I loved the clarity of messages with these cards.. easy to hold, shuffle, draw :)
