What's the difference between flourish excel and flourish? when should they be used...?

Seachem flourish is a fertilizer, excel is an alternative to co2 injection but can be used with co2. Flourish shoud be dosed at 1ml per tan gallons onec a week. Excel 1ml per ten gallons once a day. And fyi an airstone or bubble wall or surface agitation Will not gas off excel, it will stay in the water for 24 hours and only be used by the plants when exposed to light.

Would this be safe to use in a 10 gallon tank with Nerite snails and shrimp?

I have a 55 gallon tank with 15 cherry shrimp, I add a capful of this a day and my shrimp are fine. Don’t overdose and slowly incorporate it into your water over time.

Is it necessary to also buy the flourish nitrogen, iron, etc. for a planted tank? already using this, excel, flourish tabs, and eco complete substrate

Fluorish provides micronutrients, which are certainly important for plant growth. However the macronutrients that Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium provide are the most essential. There is a trace amount of iron in Flourish already, so unless you have plants with Iron deficiencies then you shouldn't need to dose more Iron.If you buy them all in the 500mL bottles, they should last a long time.

Is this safe for shrimp

I have orange rili and blue vervet shrimp, Cappuccino snails, nerite snails, mystery snails and have had no issue. I have a 40 gallon tank and the dosing is geared for 60 gallons. I cut the dose in half and my plants look great and I didn’t have any algae issues.. more importantly my water babies are alive and happy.
