Works like a champ but way too large for any kind of under-sink mounting applications, at least in a residential setting. It needs to be mounted on the wall for good clearance. That’s something to keep in mind, because not being under a sink creates 2 things: an eyesore on the wall, and loss of flexibility in the water line.

Works well on ice maker. Lasts a year without issue.

These filters fit the port installed under a sink with a simple twist and lock motion. However, on some replacement elements, seating the new filter is difficult to twist and lock and you sometimes don't get the satisfying 'click' you expect, leading you to question if the seal is good. This purchase is in that group. Additionally, while other filters will provide a good pressure flow from the sink spigot, this one will slow the pressure by (what seems to be) half. I'm happy about the filtration and dissatisfied with the overall performance.

My wife and I have a martini bar restaurant and we bought a new Manitowoc under the bar ice machine. From day one were using commercial carbon cartridge filters for the ice maker and the soda system. The system was C Pure AQUAKINGPSC10. The filters were cheap enough and we changed twice a year or so but we could never get rid of the calcium build up in the drain system of the ice maker. About every 3 to 4 months we would have a flooded floor where the ice maker drained the excess water out and it could not pass due to the calcium and it would run out the bottom. After a service tech showed the the issue, we cut a hole in the back were we could put draino in the small water catch and this would keep it clear. A real pain honestly but it was a solution. We just got used to the process. Then I noticed a lot if chain stores were using 3M at their ice machines so I decided to try this one. The cartridge cost was my only issue but I figured it might be worth a try. I installed the unit in August of 2020 and there has never been a calcium build up since. I decided to add the same system to the soda gun system which is the image shown. I change the filters once a year now and have no issues. Clearly a superior system to my previous cartridge system I had used for 4 years. I just ordered another one for my new spare ice machine. I will not be without 3M for my ice equipment again. The only thing I would suggest is installing a purge valve as shown in the picture if it is not going under a sink or some place that you cannot run some water through it. The cartridge does have some carbon that blows out quickly but it will give you gray ice if you don't purge it.

This item seems to work great for filtering water for our ice machine. It was so easy to set up.
