The Planetary Omnibus

A good start of 2017
I has been planning to buy The Planetary Omnibus for almost one year. I have fulfilled this plan just 10 days ago and already finished it reading. And what a start of the year this has been !! Completely blown away. The Storyline, The Concept, The Artwork all are up to the mark, all complemented each other precisely. The most compact story I have gone through after The Watchmen and The Eternaut. The omnibus consists of the main series of 27 issues and three crossover issues with different storylines. Among the three crossover stories the Planetary/Batman is the best and Planetary/JLA is the worst. It is hard to believe the the JLA issue is written by Warren Ellis. How can he manage to write this crap after maintaining the real high standard of storytelling. The Authority crossover is also flat but not as bad as the JLA. Except this JLA crossover issue the whole book is a treat. Over 800 pages of pure magic of Warren Ellis & John Cassaday. The artist John Cassaday is now among one of my favourites, almost after Dave Gibbons. Hats Off to him for doing this wonderful job.

Best omnibus produced by DC
This is the best omnibus produced by DC. Thick paper stock, sewn binding, and sturdy hardcover. Also this is the cheapest omnibus with 900 pages. Story and art is amazing, you would not need prior knowledge of DC universe.

If you like TRANSMETROPOLITAN you will lovee thisss...!
Being a transmetropolitan fan i had my eyes on this particular run for a long time. But i waited to read it on this particular format(omnibus) and finally bought it for a good deal. This series is just amazing with nice illustrations all throughout. Warren Ellis has done a marvelous job on this run like he has in others.About the product, this omnibus is a must have for any warren ellis and planetary fan. The hardcover of this book is just amazing, its my second favourite after the sandman omnibus. Anyone who wants to read this and has not read it before, well having a completely collected edition is always better.! Special mention about the seller, i always prefer to order from "Uread", they have the least damage count.!

Book in poor condition
No criticism of the stories contained in this omnibus edition, they are entertaining in the extreme. Ellis and Cassaday have created an amazing meta-textual adventure in ‘Planetary’.However, and I hate leaving negative feedback, the copy that I received has crushed corners front and back. I will be returning this copy so that bored Amazon staff can continue their game of five-a-side football with it. Disappointed.

Absolutely phenomenal. An underrated piece of work by Ellis.
An astoundingly energetic, acerbic, almost meta-fictional piece of art. A greatly entertaining rip-roaring success, with its inherent sardonic, gallows humour- and the pairing of Warren and John Cassaday's masterfilly subversive, yet almost strangely populist and mainstream aesthetic and artistic stylings. A superhero series that totally turns conventions and expectations on ita head. This omnibus is extremely intriguing with its trio of characters, the ever present, ten steps ahead unit, known as The Four, also known as the "Archaeologists of the Impossible" led by Elijah Snow overseeing this vast, densely powerful secret organisation, with his partners, Jakita Wagner and The Drummer.

It's a strange world. Let's keep it that way.
The Planetary Omnibus is a fabulous book; part thriller, detective story, science fiction and even partially a philosophical treaties on the nature of comics themselves. Throughout, it displays a clear love of the medium and a total respect for its characters and the reader. It starts with the reader and the main character, Elijah Snow, not knowing or understanding what is happening. So, we are embarking jointly on a journey of mystery and discovery and, gradually, the pieces of the jigsaw fit together to allow both parties to see the whole picture. In my view, this voyage is extremely rewarding and well worth taking.

Just grab it, don’t think twice!
This book is a true masterpiece. I got recently into comics and I enjoyed every single page of it. Lots of respect for the team and artists behind this achievement, such creativity. It might seem a bit confusing and “random” at first, but as soon as everything starts to fall into place and you start to understand the whole picture you’ll be amazed.Getting ready to read it a second time.
