Synopsis Cynical outsider Daria Morgendorffer writes about her popular sister, her angry, artistic best friend Jane, the people in her high school, and her fast-track parents.

A funny book with attitude
This Book covers Darias first year at Lawndale, She begins by starting her diary in her room explaining in her own dry and sarcastic manner about her new school by summarising the other students in her school in her usual observational way including her best friend Jane. She writes about school work and the typical way other girls are obsessed with fashion and the boys obsessed with sport. Everything gets a mention in the book from her parents to her sister. What I liked about the book was the section where Daria rewrites classic children's books to remove the fairy tale element and replace it with something similar to real life. The book includes tours of bedrooms and ends with Daria falling asleep in hers. I first heard about this book through the Daria Fandom Blog, I brought it as I enjoyed the original TV Series but the price was a bit high and had to be imported from America

A must have for any Daria fan.
Along with its counterpart, Daria Database, expands the universe of Daria and some things you might not have known, and extra titbits for the fanbase. It reads like the character in the show had written it and i am glad they managed to keep the character alive in the same way on paper. I would highly recommend this book to those who loved the series when it still aired on Sunday mornings in the UK.

Fans will love this book
Think about how it would be if you were able to BE in Lawndale. What would you do first? Look around the rooms? Peek into Daria's notebook? Search the web for Upchuck's homepages? I would, and through this book, I'm able to. I loved it. Daria on TV shows you a glimpse of the characters rooms and why they act the way they do. But the Daria Diaries will show you around the bedrooms (even under the beds) of Daria and Quinn. It'll show you Mystic Spiral songs, love notes from Brittany and Kevin, and notes passed in class between everyone. Most often books about tv shows fail to capture the essence of that show, but the Daria Diaries go way beyond the essence.

"Every cloud has a smoky gray lining." -- Jane Lane
"The Daria Diaries" is a GREAT book for teenagers. I am 14 years old and I have been watching "Daria" since I was around 12 years old. I LOVE "The Daria Diaries." My favorite part is in the "Masochist's Memories." There is a picture of Daria holding the door open for Quinn. If you get this book, look at Helen's (Daria and Quinn's mother's) face! The other part that I thought was hilarious was when there was an add for an alternative group that was going to play soon, and at the very bottom, it says, "(Woodstock's over. Touch the fence and you're toast)." (You see, I'm also a 60's fan). Buy this book. . . You WON'T regret it!

This is a GREAT book for teenagers and older to read! I am 14 years old, and have been watching "Daria" since I was around 12. This book has a lot of jokes that you will find interesting! I love this whole book, but I especially like on one page. At the bottom, it says: "(Woodstock's over. Touch the fence and you're toast)" (You see, I'm also a big 60's fan). Out of the "Masochist's Memories", I like the picture of Daria holding the door open for Quinn. [If you buy this book, look at Helen's (Daria and Quinn's mother's) face!

It was a fantastic book but not long enough at all!
I LOVE Daria and have never missed an episode so I was glad when I saw the commercial for this book last January. This book is a guide for the episodes from the first season. It has lots of cool stuff inside like paper dolls, map of lawndale etc. If you want to get to know daria, this is the book for you!!
