This closer is definitely not for heavy doors. It works well with our interior doors which are hollow and lightweight. The instructions are vague. I recommend a YouTube search for installation instructions of a similar product called Swisco 40-189. Just be sure to point the arrow AWAY from the door. The closer was too noisy for my liking, so I disassembled the unit and lubricated everything with spray grease. Doing so eliminated all of the noise. If you’re not mechanically minded, do not attempt to disassemble it. The quality is good, especially for the price.

This system works as advertised. However, you really have to find the sweet spot for your door. I did not want to screw into a metal frame door for the guide, so I used some gorilla double side tape , and it is holding well. Overall, I’m happy with it.

I purchased one to replace one that had stopped working at a Vet Clinic (I am a commercial and residential repair contractor). It was super easy to install and once I turned it to the proper closing force position it was able to successfully close a fairly heavy wood door with positive air pressure pushing against trying to open it from the outside room.

I bought this to install on one of the doors to keep it closed so the cats can not get into the room. It works but it is noisy when you open the door.

We always forget to close the laundry door off of the kitchen, which is near the great room/den. Our old dryer has a squeak and we end up getting up and closing the door every night a time or two. I found this by chance and installed it on the inside of the laundry room door (which swings into the laundry room) and provides a constant pressure on the door, enough to make a soft close. It took me a few tries to get the closure calibrated but love this product.

Very noisy spring sound… will not be using.

For the most part this product works. I just wish that at its lowest tension setting it would close the door all the way. I've used this on a 24 inch wide and 30 inch wide interior doors. I guess it depends on the leverage.

This is the second one of these that I've bought and installed and they work really well. They are easy to install and don't take up much space. Just screw it into the door frame and the anti-rub plate on to the door and you're done. You can adjust the tension to ensure the door closes properly. Much better and simpler than large commercial style door closers or pneumatic cylinder closers.

This is a great door closer. Very adjustable to adjust tension so that door closes, but not at a speed of 200 MPH. I have mine on a normal (lightweight) interior door. Installation is very simple, except that the simple tool (a little metal rod) included to tighten the spring is on the small side. It would be nice if it were about 2" longer. Unless you have gorilla tough hands you might find this tool a little inadequate, as it will hurt your hands trying to make those last couple adjustments. Simple solution is to use something longer you have laying around the house such as an Allen key or a small screwdriver.

It works good for any flat door trims and frames but it doesn't properly install if the trim isn't flat. Wish, they would have any rubber base or something to make it compatible with all types of door frames.

J'adore ce produit que j'ai installer sur la porte de la salle de bain de mon appartement que je partage avec des colocs. Elle permet de la tenir fermer, mais sans qu'elle clanche jusqu'au fond, disant que la salle est libre ou pas. Avant j'ai un coloc qui avait tendance a la laisser ouverte quand il sortait, cela bloquait le passage, et même qu'un coloc l'avait en pleine face quand il sortait de sa chambre. Comme je chauffe le corridor a 20 celcius et la salle de bain a 23 celcius, comme on se déshabille avant une douche pour ne pas geler, en laissant la porte ouverte, le chauffage marchait sans cesse pour réchauffer inutilement le corridor. J'ai donc aussi régler ce problème au lieu de demander constamment au coloc de refermer la porte quand il en sortait et que les odeurs restent aussi en salle de bain, après un numéro 2, le temps que le ventilateur fasse le travail. J'ai découvert ce produit sur Amazone, je ne savait pas que cela existait. Je regardais pour un gros ferme-porte commercial. Bien content d'avoir tomber sur cela. Très facile d'installation.
