chocolade hagelslag For the win!
TL;dr this has that awesome chocolate flavor of true Dutch chocolate sprinkles, no candy crunch like cake toppings. Highly recommend. When I spent a week, as a teenager, living with a host family in Holland, I was introduced to chocolade hagelslag, a traditional breakfast food. Lightly toast bread, put a thin layer of butter on it so it melts, then add a layer of chocolate sprinkles (chocolade hagelslag), some kids press’s the sprinkles into the bread with their knife or fork to make sure they don’t fall off and help them melt, though I was assured that thin layer of butter would help keep them on.This quickly became my new favorite breakfast food, and one of the few Dutch phrases I returned home able to say was “chocolade hagelslag”. I even got the family to take me shopping to pick up a package to bring home for my parents to try.Over the decades since then we’ve tried various chocolate sprinkles we found at the grocery stores here in the U.S., invariably on the baking needs aisle, those tend to have a candy like exterior, aren’t meant to melt, and don’t have the true chocolate flavor of chocolade hagelslag… this is what I remember from my teen years, not chocolate sprinkles in the “on top of donuts” sense, but more like chocolate shavings with a slightly hardened outer layer (not sure what causes that, but again, not in the “candy coating” sense.)Items like this are why I love internet shopping… the things I just can’t find locally, and yet are such a treat.

Can't Beat Dutch Jimmies!
I first had these when I was in Holland. They would serve them at breakfast, on buttered white bread, with a side of coffee and sweetened condensed milk. In comparison to American-made sprinkles, or jimmies, as we call them here, these are much softer, more chocolatey and just plain delicious. They spoiled me to the point that I can't stand American ones because they are so flavorless and waxy. Get these! You'll love 'em. The dark chocolate ones are also amazing.

Great product and Great seller!
My son's loved these when we lived in The Netherlands and was excited when I seen them on Amazon. Had a problem, the postal service really abused the shipment, but the seller went above and beyond to fix it. Will definitely buy again.

Yummy!
I love this brand with a piece of toast with peanut butter and even with plain butter. The kids love it! You can't just eat one, but maybe to or three. The quality and taste is great! I would highly recommend as this is one of my favorite snacks when you're craving for something sweet.

Not waxy
I never understood why anyone would want sprinkles on their food. But that is because all I ever knew were waxy sprinkles with a fake chocolate flavor. This are NOT those gross sprinkles I grew up with in the 80s and still see in grocery stores. These are made with real chocolate, taste yummy and are really nice on homemade chocolate truffles and baked goods. It's this brand or nothing for us.
