I looked at many map lights for my application before settling on this Hella product...It fit precisely where I needed it, and above all is sturdy enough to stand by itself at any angle...It's very well built, and was shipped with everything needed for installation and operation...Two lenses are included, white and red...I chose the red to reduce the chance of night blindness, but keep the white one in my console storage compartment if needed...The bulb is bright and replaceable...I look forward to the same satisfaction after I install my new Hella driving lights...

My Jeep doesn't have a map light. Well, it didn't used to, anyway. This light is great. White and red lenses included, nice long gooseneck that's stable enough to stay put when off-roading, what more could you want? Some quick wiring to the back of the cigarette lighter circuit and two screws into the (automatic) shifter bezel and it was installed.As for the bulb, as someone else mentioned, it's a BA9s base 5W halogen. Your local auto parts store should carry a #57 bulb that will fit, though a 57 has a slightly different globe shape and is a standard incandescent.

These were the perfect replacement for the Monaco RV reading lights that had failed. Perfect footprint match and quality that beat OEM ones.

Product description and even the box itself says it comes with a red lens. The first one I received did not have one, the second one after I returned the first did not have one. Amazon refunded me 50% and let me keep one of them, also said they would change the product description.Have not wired in the light yet, but it looks good.

Bright enough and came with red filter. Black wire is battery positive and brown is neg. which I find strange but that's what worked.

The light is an excellent product. Well made, sturdy and extremely easy to use, however, the incandescent bulb it uses is very difficult to find. It does come with a bulb, but finding a replacement is going to be almost impossible. If the maker or Amazon could specify a source, the light would have received my highest rating.John

I have installed six of these Hella " fixed '' base map lights in 6 heavy trucks over the past 15 years. They are Very well made, not china junk. If you are mounting for off-road use consider adding large " fender " washers on the backside to spread the load over a larger surface. I open the mounting bores up just a bit so I can use 5 mm socket head ( Allen ) head machine screws.with large washers & nuts........Sheet metal screws with these longer Hella map lights is asking for trouble ..... Make sure to drill your 3 rd hole for the two 18 gauge wires larger so you may slide some tube in place to protect the very thin 18 gauge Hella runs up the goose neck when it passes into your mounting surface. Ships with Red & clear lens, changes with small pick or screw driver .

Well Amazon really dumped on me with this item... really first time I think Amazon is guilty of falsifying information. THERE IS NO CIGARETTE LIGHTER ATTACHMENT even though it says twice in the material that it connects via cigarette lighter. Was supposed to be a Christmas present for my wife... thanks a lot Amazon! Very disgusted. I guess I should have read the reviews!!!
