A 3D Paranormal Activity? Well... kinda
As somebody who has seen more or less every horror movie in existence, isn’t a snob about found-footage style movies and has seen all of this series, I figured I’d drop my thoughts in on this release. I have watched the Blu-ray in both 2D and 3D.Movie: Now the movie itself is ok. It isn’t anything special and a lot of scenes feel odd in 2D as they were clearly designed to be gimmicky for the 3D release. It has a few jump scares and your average plot for Paranormal Activity but it doesn’t bring anything new to the table other than “It’s 3D this time!” I also felt the gimmicky camera they discover (which is where all the 3D effects are seen through) really damaged the movie as it took away a lot of suspense because it “can see” the entity. 6/10.3D: Now as a huge movie fan and a big lover of 3D I was curious how this film would work, and it really doesn’t. 3D is normally best when it adds depth and immersion in the environment, but Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension completely forgoes this and opts to give us a “ghost camera” with strange floating visuals, meanwhile the rest of the film is so flat that you can watch it without the 3D glasses on. Both me and my fiancée were legitimately unsure if our glasses were on or not anytime the “ghost camera” isn’t being used. When the 3D is there it is very good, it’s just a shame they didn’t really use any 3D whatsoever in the non-ghost camera parts of the movies (about 85% of it). 4/10Verdict: If you like Paranormal Activity before now you’ll probably like this one too. However for most of the scenes to not feel dragged out and weird, you’ll want the 3D version, but then most of the other scenes will feel flat and devoid of any need for your 3D glasses. It certainly isn’t worth the £10 I paid for it but if I could have picked up to for £5 or below I wouldn’t feel too bad about it. 5/10

Worth it for the 3D alone
We are well down the track with the Paranormal Activity franchise and it's hard to get away from the fact that the idea is not going to have the originality or freshness of the original. And so many reviews seem to pan the later films simply for this fact. But this latest chapter does add some new interest with the introduction of the 3D element. And if you are able to put the logistics of this actually happening in a home environment to one side you might enjoy this aspect of the film.3D lends itself really well to this type of film where you get to see strange but indistinct shapes moving around the house and hanging in front of the camera - it adds a sense of realism to the threat which the family are initially unaware of. The 3D is also used quite well in other areas such as the layout of the upstairs area which has an open plan, stairway and a long corridor which the characters (human and other) move about and also move across to hover in your living room.In regard to the film itself, the story does follow another family who have moved into a house that was built on the same ground where the previous house once stood, but has since been razed after the original incidents. There is a small girl who is the interest of the demon, and we watch the events escalate. The story is well structured and moves along at a reasonable pace. In the end, it all ties up with a decent conclusion. If you enjoyed the previous instalments, this one will probably appeal to you also.

OK - Same Old, Same Old!
The movie itself is pretty run-of-the-mill but I bought the 3D version to use with a home cinema and for this it was great. A few good bangs and jumps but don't expect an Oscar-worthy film.

100% worth it!
Paid for next day delivery & it arrived today, which was fantastic, definitely worth it! Out of all the films, this is without a doubt, the scariest one! Be warned do not watch this alone! Really does make you jump! Much more intense than any of the other films

I might just be easily scares but this film had me jumping out of my skin. The 3D isn't amazing but definitely adds a new layer to the film.
