Very nice light, just the right size. Durable, quality build.
Compares very well with a larger, MUCH more expensive light from Staples. The Staples light had a nice quality, and very bright LEDs, but only 1 year warranty and (of course) no bifocal. And the larger 7 inch; lens was MUCH heavier and unwieldy. I returned it in favor of this lamp.Good-quality build, everything fits together well. I'm not sure it really needs 4 levels of brightness, but brightest setting is more than adequate for general use as a desk lamp, and lowest setting is suitable for dark environments. This lamp is virtually identical to a nominally-less-expensive version without the 20 diopter lens inset, and that version has many very-high ratings. The bifocal is just a glued-on secondary lens, not quite elegant as if it were cut into main lens, but it does the job, does it well, and who can complain with all these features in an $80 lamp with 3-yerar warranty? The lens can be rotated so that the bifocal is in just about any position you want. The dimmable LEDs put out a very clean daylight white with excellent color renditioning. HIghly suitable for graphic arts.Lids tend to be a problem typically cheaply-made and breaking off, as they did on the older, smaller, inadequate lamp this one replaces. But the lid is securely attached. There is a white version that looks nicer, but would require more cleaning and detailing (and thus wear-and-tear on its plastic parts). If initial quality is representative of this product in long-term, and if the 3-year warranty is worth anything, this is a very nice lamp and an excellent value.EDIT:5 years later, this lamp is still working flawlwessly, no serious wear-and-tear. I just recently recommended one to a computer technician when I noticed him complaining about his cheap magnifier lamp.I stand by my 5 stars.

Great magnifying lamp!
This is my second Neatfi magnifying lamp. My first one is in our living room and I use it for cross stitching. I’ve had it for about 3 years and have never had any issues with it. I needed another one for my stitching room. I had an ott lite in there but I needed something with more light and also a bifocal lens on it. I am so very pleased with this lamp. Thank you so much for a great product!

Exactly what I needed
This is my second magnifying lamp; the first (in white) didn't have the little inset diopter but was otherwise very similar. This new one is in black, has the "Neatfi" logo on the light cover (not crazy about that, but not a big deal; a little acetone will take care of that), and the internal wiring is better hidden on the first joint.Otherwise, this is great for a workbench or other area as needed. The lamp/magnifier is easily adjusted, stays in place, and is a great magnification for my uses. One is on a bench for electronics reviews, adjustments, and repairs, the other is in an area for reading small type like on CD cases (remember them) or other small print. Lighting is very even; not sure all the settings are needed but it is handy to reduce glare from time to time. The "instant on" LED is nice; these replaced magnifiers with circular fluorescent bulbs and I don't miss the heat or startup time. All in all, I am very happy, can't think of a single flaw, and would buy again - and have! Highly recommended.

Pretty Good for What I Needed
I was looking for a light for my workshop table. It is a wide table and I wanted the ability to have a magnifying lens. I was looking for something with as long a reach as I could get while still being a decent quality light. I had read some of the reviews already posted about this light and felt that it best met my needs compared to the other lights available (even though some had a longer reach). Now that I've had it for a few weeks I think I can properly comment on it. Overall, I like it. Some people didn't like the fact that the on/off button is on the bottom side. Personally, I don't find it that much of a problem. It protrudes from the casing a proper amount that there isn't an issue locating it and depressing it. Additionally, I do get airborne dust and dirt, so having the button on the bottom will probably help the switch last longer.Speaking of the dust and debris, I do like the fact that the magnifier has a cover. It is easy enough to raise and lower as needed.I wasn't sure what I was going to think of the 20 Diopter spot magnifier. I thought that it might obstruct my overall view of the 5 Diopter. I find that its placement is sufficient that I don't notice it until I want to use it. It is a nice extra feature that certainly has its uses. The four separate light levels are nice. Sometimes I use it when the room is dark and the highest level would be too much. The highest intensity is great for properly illuminating the project I'm working on.I like all the movement directions of the arm and especially that I can rotate the business end of the light. The only thing I am disappointed with is the springs of the middle hinge. There is a certain range of about 20 degrees that it won't stay put in. I find that it isn't in a range that I typically use it for so it isn't that much of a nuisance. I will chalk it up to you get what you pay for.Overall, for the price I think it is a good lamp and satisfies my needs.

Be careful when you loosen the magnifying lamp head!
The magnifying lamp works very well and seems well made . The magnification is a lot stronger than most (why I bought it) but, it will reduce both your field of view and proximity to the object being viewed.Be aware that the magnifying lamp head is very heavy and will swing rapidly when you loosen its locking knob, so be sure to support the head prior to loosening it.

Very satisfied with this purchase
I bought this item for my father who suffers with macular degeneration. It has saved the day for us! Sturdy. Articulating arm works well. Brightness settings are ideal for our needs.

Not UK Compatible
This item is from US & comes with US type plug - this is sold on Amazon UK so should be made clear that an adapter will be needed to use in UK

Excellent built quality...for a price...
OverviewMy father had one when I was a kid. I searched for a long time to find one that was of similar quality. This was it.There are alot of lower priced units, basically plastic build. Those may be OK...if you just use this occasionally. I have this metal unit installed on my work bench. Great for examining small machined parts, watch repair, mechanical assembly etc.Plenty of adjustment in the arm mechanism. Light is also adjustable (although I generally leave it at full power)Great unit...for the price. Pros-Excellent quality of material and construction-adjustment does not drift out of setting-very bright light.-two diopters of magnification (5x and 20x).Cons-Pricey-20x Diopiter a bit small. OK once you get used to itRecommendation – Would buy it again and would recommend.<---Click below if you found this review helpful--->
