The Lewis and Clark Expedition Coloring Book (Dover American History Coloring Books)

I'm glad they included York, Clark's slave. But missed opportunity. I thought it would be neat to mention he had many of the same rights as the rest of the group including equal voting for decisions. More could be extrapolated from this alone. Some slaves were only that in title to protect them as well as their "owners". That's another can of worms but this kind of book can help pique interest/start those conversations. Instead it was "natives thought he looked interesting"...Tried too hard to make intricate pictures. This is good for a very artistic mature child. In our state it's mostly 8-10 year olds studying this material. Most don't care for this serious style art especially this overtly detailed. It's boring. For the price and effort (I was an artist) I can't rate it lower. But I'm sort-of regretting it. It did have some new facts but nothing significant to us that we didn't know already. We have videos and other books we use, this will be just another way to hammer in the visual.

Very good coloring book with a paragraph of history about Lewis and Clark Expedition on each page. Definitely for older kids because of some of the content, (fighting/warfare). Overall a good addition to my Lewis and Clark homeschool unit.

All of Peter F. Copeland's books are good for their ease in teaching or learning American History. The saying, "A picture is worth a thousand words", describes these books perfectly. Easy to color

Not completely historically accurate but really detailed drawings that make the user aware of one of the major benchmarks in US history and exploration.
