1-5/8" (Dia.) Table Top Edge Classical Bold Bit (Quadra-Cut)

I used this bit on a 17" x 84" x 1" thick Poplar table top. Using a hand held router w/edge guide the first cut was on end grain. The shear angle and quadra cut design of the Freud bit resulted in a very smooth cut with no tearout or burning. The final depth of cut was acheived with two passes.The hand held router was used as the table top was too large and cumbersom to use the table mounted router in my small shop.I purchased the bit from Amazon as it was not readily available locally. Amazon delivered and I was able to meet my customers delivery date.

I workly solely with Mesquite, so carbide is the only way to go. I keep 2-3 copies of each bit on hand. When one dulls, I wrap it and pitch it in the sharpening box and slap the twin in the Bosch router and keep moving. Quads cost a couple of dollars more at the sharpening shop but they last a lot long in use. When your bank account depends to reliable tools, think Freud Quads

Very smooth cut on red oak. No tear out or chip out.

Bought this bit to put a decorative edging on a mahogoney library table that I was building. The bit did a fantastic job and the table top turned out beautiful. There were no burn marks on the piece and the surface quality was such that I did not have to sand the profile.
