How can you in all honesty not enjoy this album?
Let me just start off by saying that this is one of, probably, five albums I can listen to the whole way through in its ENTIRETY.This album was produced and came out at the exact right time of the 1990s --- 1996/1997 people were coming off the real, heavy post-grunge melodrama and shifting their focus on experimentation and alternative. What I most enjoy about this album is how every song is different. It isn't repetitive. You can easily tell that Daniel, Ben, Chris and of course Nick Launay (who produced this) were really vying for something niche, and unintentionally created a record true to the taste of the mid-to-late 1990s.I love every song on this album, I really love the band Silverchair, and I really wish people would give this album more credit. They were 16/17 when they produced this/released Freak Show. My favourite songs on this album are: Freak, The Door, Roses and Learn To Hate. Not a masterpiece, but its not crap either.Sound angsty enough? Damn right it does! It's spectacular in its own perfect way.

aah, the young sound of the chair
undoubtably the only respectable internationally famous teens, silverchair have excelled themselves with freak show. frogstomp was great for the australian trio, but freak show just over shadows it. first single released from this album, freak, is the first silverchair track i'd ever heard...and now they're my favourite group (so how can i put them down?).well, not the best silverchair album...they're like wine and are improving with age, but it is amazing. if i had bought this before the release of neon ballroom and diorama, i wouldn't be able to think any higher of this album.the tracks to look out for in particular are probably 'freak', 'pop song for us rejects', and 'the closing', although they are all great. Daniel Johns has reached a completely new level in lyric writing after frogstomp, which the track 'nobody came' proves without a doubt.i think my advise to you is blantantly clear...you'll buy it or regret it.

A Fantastic Album by such a talented youth
Silverchair continue to write once again another fantastic album. Showing strengh in all their songs, power album, attitude flavour and toxic tunes, an album well worth buying if your a music fan!
