I love the versatility of brewing both coffee and tea in one sleek machine and it comes in black stainless which matches all my other appliances! The brewing capacity is perfect—whether I’m making a single cup or a full carafe, it handles it all with ease. The coffee quality is impressive, especially with the low, medium, and high temperature settings. I can adjust it depending on the roast or tea type, and every cup comes out just right. The programmable timer is a total game-changer—I just set it the night before and wake up to a hot, fresh brew. The auto shut-off gives me peace of mind, and it’s super easy to clean, which is a must for my busy mornings. If you’re looking for a reliable, multi-function brewer that does it all and looks great on the counter, this one’s worth every penny! Review: Review for Cuisinart Coffee Center SS-15 AND SS-16… We previously had the SS-15 model… which has a ton of problems in itself. Leaky water reservoir (and no, a replacement will not fix the problem), the more than occasional k-cup coffee ground explosion, and a red clean light that will not turn off no matter what you do to clean or re-program the darn thing. We decided to just deal with the SS-15 for three years and finally decided to “upgrade” to the next model, SS-16, hoping it would fix the previous problems. WELL JOKE IS ON ME. My husband brewed a pot of coffee 24-HOURS ago (worked great then) and this morning while looking for the serial number under the machine I noticed that the plate was STILL HOT! No - the “off” button does not turn off the plate and there is no side switch to turn on/off the machine like the SS-15. We attempted to make a k-cup and per the manual we had to descale the machine first. After holding the clean button, the light flickered red and it beeped five times to tell us it was done. EXCEPT NOTHING HAPPENED!! The water was still in the reservoir. We clicked on the “pod” button to select a cup size. Again. NOTHING HAPPENED. So just like the last machine three years ago, I found myself calling Cuisinart customer service AGAIN. Turns out the machine is malfunctioned. So I must either have terribly bad luck with coffee makers OR Cuisinart makes cheap quality products that could have turned into a FIRE HAZARD had I not discovered the 24/7 HOT hot plate… I’m going to go with the latter. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY on Cuisinart coffee makers. You’ve been warned.

Make a great cup or pot

I will say this makes great coffee. The single cup Keurig is extremely fast. What drives me crazy is sometimes the single side will not brew. It actually only worked a couple of days when I bought it and I was abou to send it back butdid some research. The Keurig side has a rubber covered switch inside where the Keurig cup goes. I seems to sense the cover is closed. When the switch senses the cover is closed there will be a "POD" LED illuminated meaning you can brew. It's well documented that the switch doesn't always pop up when the cover is opened and then you can't brew. I suspect there is more to it than that because if the switch was always sensed the cover is closed, then it wouldn't matter when you opened he cover. In any case, per several comments from folks who called Customer Service, the "fix" is to reach in and press the rubber cover to move the switch. That didn't always work in my case. I had to use my fingernail to push down on the rubber switch cover then slide my finger off so the switch would pop up. Just pressing and releasing didn't always work. I fact, I put a label inside saying "Reset" by the button. It happens quite often and it's only an inconvience except when we have house guests and they try to brew a single cup and it won't. With all the comments online, you'd think they'd fix that. Living in Colo, we get a lot of house guests. For those that get up before us, and after seeing so many of them struggling to make the carafe coffee, I ended up putting #s 1-5 for the steps for them to make coffee. The K-Cup side is easy as long as the POD LED illuminates. "A" to check the display and select the quantity, in ounces, and then press. Maybe we shouldn't have house guests? LOL.

This coffee pot works well. the carafe did shatter on the hot plate, not sure what happened. The pod section did have the problem that many had reviewed with the light not coming back on after the initial first use. There was a review that stated you could pull up on this grey, silicone 'button' behind where the pod itself sits and I got used to pulling that up all the time. Annoying but it worked, however if you have bigger fingers you would probably need a tool to help. Well I came upon a post that on Reddit that mentioned they had someone in customer service who knew how to fix it. You might need to uplug the machine the reset it first then pull up and down on that button several times (like 10) and it seems to fixed now. It sucks that an older carafe I kept from the previous maker doesn't sit right on the hot plate and that the correct replacement is $50 through their website which is ridiculous as the carafe is useless without the maker. Their customer service can be iffy but thank you for finding out something that should have been in the instructions and they need to make parts easier to replace.
