Good dash cam for live streaming view.
Whether in direct sunshine or at night, the STARVIS 2 sensor and HDR significantly improve the quality of 4K film. Small details like license plates stay crisp, while the HEVC compression reduces file sizes without compromising quality. The USB-C connection makes setup easy, and the rapid boot feature ensures that it is prepared for recording as soon as the car is started. It is simple to view or download clips straight to a phone thanks to the seamless Wi-Fi connecting. Additional peace of mind is provided by cloud functions, particularly when it comes to remote monitoring in parking mode. The USB-C connection speeds up file transfers, and the rapid boot time means that it starts recording practically as soon as I turn on the car. The cloud remote access and Wi-Fi video playback are great features. It gives me a lot of peace of mind to be able to see footage or receive notifications on my phone while the car is parked. With its ability to switch modes automatically and record events without rapidly depleting the battery, Smart Parking Mode operates smoothly. When viewed or recorded at night, it truly sparkles. I imagine the 4K version would be amazing. It connects to WiFi quickly and operates without a hitch. Excellent recording capabilities were present in all Blackvue devices, and browsing and playing back recordings was made simple by the cloud infrastructure that was built into the device. The video quality is frequently good regardless of the time of day or night. Its USB-C power connection, fast boot, and cloud features give it the feel of a modern, well-designed machine. The camera also has an app and cloud-based system that, when connected to your home wifi, can automatically sync specific occurrences and notify you through the app. In the event of a collision, you should also select a dash cam with two channels to avoid any doubt about what transpired. Longer or replacement USB cables are easier to find because this version uses a USBC cord. When it comes to dash cams, reliability should come before features because you never know when you will need to record.

FINALLY! HDR comes to Blackvue in a very competitive dashcam system
Over the years, Blackvue has led the pack when it comes to cloud connectivity. But, with competitors like VIOFO embracing HDR (high dynamic range) technology with the Sony Starvis 2 4K video sensor, Blackvue opted not to follow suit for some odd reason a couple of years ago, which made nighttime license plate recording very degraded, even unreadable under the glare of headlights. The South Korean company more than makes up for those dark days with its new line of HDR "Plus II" systems. My tests found that it works very well at night on oncoming license plates. There are no mainstream reviews for this product that was released in July, such as from Vortex Radar, so I suggest holding off for the time being. (He is promising a review.) I'm guessing it will give both VIOFO and Thinkware a run for their money. What really shines with Blackvue is its cloud capability on steroids: live view, auto upload, notifications, and remote file access that can notify you immediately about something bad happening with your vehicle when parked. Note that a rear camera cannot be added later; I highly recommend dual camera systems. The 4K video is very crisp in daylight. I received the unit with the woefully insufficient 64GB SD card. But, that could be a good price choice since there are very good 3rd party high endurance cards, like Samsung, that will work with this unit, and likely more inexpensively than paying Blackvue for their OEM cards. All in all, a very solid front view dashcam, and probably the best if you value cloud services. But, again, I suggest waiting until professional reviewers get their hands on it for testing. ⭐️1 star — I don't recommend it at all, poor quality. ⭐️⭐️ 2 stars — I don't recommend it: has multiple faults, or a very high price. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars — It's passable: it has some faults, but the quality is ok for what it is. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars — Product quite acceptable, and it does what it promises. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars — Product that I totally recommend.

The BlackVue 970X is absolute garbage
The BlackVue 970X is absolute garbage. I’ve owned the DR650GW, DR750S, and DR900S — all of them worked flawlessly for years. But the 970X? Total failure. I bought two brand-new units and both have the same ticking noise and horribly distorted audio. It doesn’t matter how it’s powered — hardwired, using their included 12V cigarette adapter, or even a high-quality Apple USB-C adapter — the problem never goes away. Running the latest firmware (v2.006) changes nothing. For a so-called “premium” dashcam, this is unacceptable. I’m posting a video soon to show how bad it really is — BlackVue should be embarrassed to sell something this defective.

BlackVue: Makes the best Dash Cams on the market
This BlackVue DR970 dash cam has been a total relief for my wife and me. It's the best one we've ever had, hands down. The 4K front camera with its advanced sensor records everything with stunning detail—so sharp I can read license plates and street signs even at night. That level of clarity is a massive comfort. I really appreciate how it begins recording the instant the car turns on, with zero delay. The Wi-Fi and cloud features are a huge plus; I can easily check the video or get alerts on my phone, which is especially reassuring when the car is parked. The smart parking mode is another great feature, catching any incidents without draining the battery. It was super simple to install, and its slim profile means it doesn't obstruct the driver’s view. After relying on it daily, I feel completely at peace knowing it will capture any event, whether on the road or in a parking lot. If you're looking for a dependable dash cam with excellent video quality and simple connectivity, this is a superb choice.

A solid option from Blackvue…
This BlackVue DR970X‑1CH Plus II delivers a polished blend of high‑end imaging and user‑friendly setup. Its 4K UHD front camera, powered by Sony’s STARVIS 2 sensor and HDR processing, captures crisp detail in both bright daylight and low‑light conditions, with excellent control over glare and shadow. Low-light capture is often the bane of dash cams, so I was particularly pleased that this model provided videos with little noise. The fast‑boot feature means it’s recording within seconds of starting your vehicle, and the USB‑C connection streamlines installation, which is straightforward: the slim, cylindrical body mounts cleanly behind the rear‑view mirror, and the included cabling tucks neatly along trim lines without fuss (depending on if you want to wire it in or just use the USB cable). Built‑in Wi‑Fi enables quick video playback on your phone. For drivers who value both technical performance and a hassle‑free install, it’s a well‑rounded package that produces consistently sharp, reliable footage.

This dash cam is awesome!
I was looking for a dash cam to feel a little safer on the road, and this one is exactly what I needed. The video quality is amazing, super clear and sharp, even when it's dark outside. The app is really easy to use and it connects to my phone quickly so I can review footage right away if I need to. I especially like that it records even when my car is parked, so I don't have to worry about what happens when I'm not around. The installation was a breeze with the USB-C cable.

The BlackVue DR970X-1CH Plus II delivers truly impressive video quality. The STARVIS 2 sensor and HDR make a noticeable difference, producing crisp, detailed 4K footage whether in bright sunlight or at night. License plates and small details remain sharp, and the HEVC compression keeps file sizes manageable without sacrificing clarity. Setup is simple with the USB-C connection, and the fast boot means it’s ready to record within seconds of starting the car. The Wi-Fi pairing works smoothly, making it easy to view or download clips directly to a phone. Cloud features add extra peace of mind, especially for remote monitoring in Parking Mode. With support for up to 1TB microSD cards, it’s ideal for long drives or continuous parking surveillance. A well-built, high-performance dash cam that combines quality, convenience, and reliability. :)
