The Color of Hope

I Love the people of Hope Springs!
I am so grateful to God for the gifts He gives to us through the authors He equips. I am thankful that the author is willing to write and bless us with books like "The Color of Hope".From the first word, I was captured and enchanted by the wonderful cast of characters. They are fun and funny, and sweet and sometimes frustrating. They deal with real world stuff and not always perfectly -- sort of like most of us. I loved these characters and I loved the book. The writing was delightful. The plot engaging and some of it was unexpected and, frankly difficult to read -- perhaps because of the fact that I became so invested in these characters and the cares and concerns of their hearts and perhaps because I was a teacher at one time and loved my students (I'm NOT going to include any "spoilers" here -- you'll have to read it for yourself to see what I meant) and perhaps because I am well acquainted with the fact that life is hard and sometimes messy. The author deals with some of the deep messiness of life but leaves us understanding that there really is hope in our God, even in the mess and in deep difficulties of life. Our God is the only answer to all the challenges of life. He is at work in everything! The author's heart for unity and reconciliation is clear, encouraging, and profoundly hopeful. Its a challenge and an encouragement for God's sons and daughters to join together and live in the light of the one who has made us all His in Jesus Christ. This book gripped me. It was difficult to put down and I'm sad that I have to say good bye to these wonderful people (until next time??? I sure hope they are going to be showing up in another book REAL soon!!!) (P.S. Yes, I really do know that these are fictional characters. But boy, do I wish they lived close to me :) )

Amazing and Heartfelt
In reading this book it touched so many topics and emotions. The fact that it covered real life situations we are currently experiencing today and how faith, love and hope can overcome a multitude of challenges. This book will stay with me for a very long time.

Black & White & Red
Kim Cash Tate says she writes her books without a real outlined plan, but as God downloads to her. The Color of Hope is God's download of Hope in the shed blood of Jesus. This story is kind of a continuation of Hope Springs, with many new characters added in. The small town of Hope Springs and its inhabitants sheds light on how they are divided and not united in Christ 's at all, although some had tried. Step in Stephanie who stirs the pot. Through laughter and tears God's love is shown in a small town.

Red is the Color of Hope
Interracial Dating, Bullying, and Racism. All covered in this one book. If I have one criticism, it is that the book should not have ended without the day after the funeral. What happened with Sam's mother. Did the two Churches become one?Stephanie's story is continued in t g e next book called "Though I Stumble". We don't know what happens to Ben. Was he punished for the role he played in Sam's death. Sam was a sensitive teenager, but she deserved to be treated fairly. Typical High School angst. Popular Crowd vs Unpopular. Sam at least had the courage to try out for the Volleyball Team even if she did not have the talent.I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved Libby's storyline and how similar her life and her Aunt Gwen's lives were tied together. Forgiveness is powerful.

"The Color of Hope"
"The Color of Hope"--a book you cannot put down! From reading some of the reviews there are some loyal readers of Kim Cash Tate's novels, and I understand why! After reading "The Color of Hope" I am compelled to read another of the author's works. The Color of Hope evokes a feeling of hope for each character as they contemplate what God's will is for them when it comes to their careers, relationships, families, and faith. You will find yourself hoping that each character will ultimately decide on choosing what is right. I found myself connecting with specific characters like Stephanie, Sam and Libby for different reasons. Tate touches on real issues such as interracial relationships, racial identity, and teen suicide. She projects that love transcends color or race. Most of all, Tate sends the message of trusting God even when it seems too hard or uncertain. Although, tragedy ensues, "The Color of Hope" will leave a feeling of hope and encouragement. It is, indeed, a great read. I will post another review after reading Hope Springs!

Powerful and poignant
Another beautiful story from Kim Cash Tate! The depth of her characters reach straight to your heart. The way she weaves in spiritual truth is awesome. It’s not a sidebar to the story; it is the story. I am so glad to have read this book. You will be too.

Good read
Just wow. It is one of the last books that I am reading of Kim's- and it's deep! I love how all of her books spark this curiosity spiritually. Something I need right about now.

The color of Hope
There was nothing I disliked about this book! I love reading Kim Cash Tate books because it reads like any other novel I get into. I get intrigued and can’t put it down. What I love most is that as I struggle with living the right way with God; Kim’s characters face some of my very own issues and I am guided to seek God for directions on how to proceed. This book was hard for me as a mother of a biracial daughter that I lost. It wasn’t suicide .. it was a drunk driver but I faced the same issues as a black woman of being outcast and raised her alone!! Kim.... you are a gift!! Please know that!!!

Very moving
This was a really well written book. I've been reading some of the authors other books and thought I might start from the beginning. I have to admit that I cried like a baby. Partly because such sadness for what happened to Sam and partly because of when the aunties and Cyd turned up to support. So emotional and so moving. This may be fiction but these are real life situations that people are experiencing. Deep
