My grandmother came from the old country and brought with her this tradition. It was always so exciting to go to her home Christmas eve and search for the pickle hidden in the tree. The person who finds it gets to open the first gift. I have since incorporated the tradition into my family. Some changes, our elves hide the pickle on Christmas eve before they return to the north pole for the season and whomever finds it gets a special gift left by them! We have twins so it's always a gift they can use together. The pickle arrived quickly and is absolutely perfect! It's a replacement for the one I dropped and broke last year!

This is a cute ornament. I had never heard the story of the pickle ornament until after this past Christmas so I wanted to make sure I had one for next year.
