Very disappointed!
After speaking to a Brother rep I ordered this SA443 hoop for our SE1900.She gave me this model number but the hoop doesn't fit the machine!! Simply will not lock down after fighting the slots into the machine, no snap.We were looking forward to this to replace our 5x7, had I known about not being able to use multiple hoops I wouldn't have purchased the machine. "Very sad for Brother"Update (following week)As I was typing in for a return a window came up offering me Brothers site & phone for assistance if product had an issue & a box to check to replace item with the exact same item.. I thought that's great, and decided to call Brother again for assistance.I called and the rep suggested I try another one as the is the model suggested for the SE1900 embroidery machine. Thinking I just got a defective one I did the return & reorder.Sadly it "Doesn't Fit"!! It did lock on this time but rides the carriage so low it causes the material to bunch into the grate & bobbin hole! Had to cut out the material to get it out. We tried this twice with two different backings! After using the same material with the 5x7 hoop that worked perfectly I think I figured out the issue. The 5x7 hoop has a "metal bracket that wraps under the plastic hoop" causing it to ride above the arm.The 4x4's metal is not a bracket, it just fits over the arm's fitting to lock down. This causes the 4x4 hoop to slide on the arm allowing the material to be pushed down the grate when sewing."""BROTHER...Please fix this flaw!! This hoop DOES NOT WORK with the SE1900""A simple design flaw that can be fixed easily.

Saves on stabilizer!
I also own the Brother 700ii, and bought it for the USB connection over the less expensive machine with the smaller hoop. I often have said that the emb. machines are like printers. They could give them away just to make money on the supplies (ink for printer, stabilizer and threads for e. machines), and I don't do elaborate designs, so really waste a lot of stabilizer using the bigger hoop.I'm at the point now where I am going to need to buy another five spools of bobbin thread. I have been using 90 wt, and winding my own, but if you have a 700ii (appears to be the only one in the 700 series that uses 90 wt) and have used the prewound bobbins with the 60 wt, would you comment on this review? I hate winding, but I don't want 144 bobbins that I can't use. Thanks.

all products ordered are great
I have a PE770 this works great for my machine and fits very well with some of the things that I do ...not an over kill on some projects that a 5x7 would be.I have only had my machine since May but have already done some amazin beautiful things. My husband and I are both amazed at how this thing works . I have no complaints with any of the things that I have bought from Amazon, Thread packages, books Kindel Fire and books Stabilizers, all the many items have always been good quality. I live in a small town that the biggest store we have is Walmart...u can not get everything at Walmart...no matter what they try to do.The next large town is over 50 miles away soooooo I use Amazon.THANK YOU AMAZON>>>>>>bj

Fits PE700II
I bought this for my PE700II because I wanted a smaller hoop to save on stabilizer when working with smaller designs. It did come with two of the plastic grids. It fits perfectly. It should also fit on the PE770 since the only difference between the PE700II and PE770 is the way files are transferred to the machine. I already used it to embroider on kids' t-shirts. I'd say that the hoop is still pricey even with the amazon discount. Really, it's plastic with some metal parts so why cost so much?

Wish it worked for me!
I so wanted this embroidery hoop to work! I have gotten interested in machine embroidery on my Brother SE-350. It's so much fun...but I only had a 4" x 4" hoop and wanted to try larger designs. The Brother SE-350 was listed in a list of compatible machines so I ordered it in anticipation of new designs in my future. Alas, it did not fit and even if it had, my sewing machine will only make 4" x 4" designs. Oh pooh! So, sadly I packed it up and sent it back. But, Amazon is super about returns! Thanks, Amazon!

Works
I bought this one as a second one and use it once in a while. For some reason I have to fight with it to get it on my machine where as my other one just slides on. I did not keep the box and have not complained about it to anyone so I just use it when I am in need of a second.

Brother vs. Elipse brand 4x4 hoop
Though the Elipse hoops work excellent, and are cheaper per hoop, unfortunately you can only get the 4x4 in a package deal, so you pay more and get several sized hoops you won't use so much. I'll be happy if Elipse starts to sell the 4x4 hoop alone. Otherwise, the Brother hoop seems to be "tighter" than the Elipse hoop. I am just happy I didn't have to get a group of them, but at 42 bucks the Brother is still overpriced.I wonder if hoops lose their "tightness" over time, or with much use? -Bernie

Sturdy
I purchased this one because in the past the cheap off brand were flimsy and ended breaking. This one feels sturdy and well made. In this case, you get what you pay for.

Seems expensive, but saves over the long run, compared to cheap generic hoops.
Much better than generic hoops. Worth the money. Marked improvement in embroidery without wasting stabilizer on the larger hoop that came with my pe770.
