Just received the copy and was looking through in anticipation of cooking. Sorry to say that I was disappointed in the number of recipes for meat--that it was not mentioned in the description and reviews. Being an ayurvedist I understand that ayurveda does recommend meat in some cases, but this cookbook has chapters and many random recipes devoted to meat. There also is no "look inside" feature. I would not have purchased the book had I known. Just thought I'd let other potential buyers know.

If you're cooking for a crowd (or just like to have leftovers)
I haven't tried the whole detox, but I've tried several of the recipes, and they have almost all been really delicious. The quantities are kind of weird--sometimes the recipes only yield 1 or 2 servings, but this may be because Ayurveda teaches that we shouldn't eat leftovers. If you're cooking for a crowd (or just like to have leftovers), you'll have to double or triple the recipes. But there's a lot of good information and useful tips in this book. I'm looking forward to purchasing some of her other cookbooks.

Excellent book!
This is a wonderful book introducing the reader to the concepts of Ayuveda. The book is well written and has recipes which are coded foreach dosha and how the ingredients are helpful for that body type. There is a chart in back on spices and their use, and how they affect the body. The recipes are delicious and easy to prepare. ... the color pictures of the recipes are beautifully doneThis book was well thought out by the author. It is a wonderful reference book as well as an outstanding cookbook. I was delighted with the quality of this book .In fact, I just purchased two more of her cookbooks on Amazon.

This is more of a cook book than a book ...
This is more of a cook book than a book about how to eat. It is very repetitive - not rich in content. You can get the same information by googling the different pitta conditions.

Best recipes I have found!
Found this in the library and HAD TO HAVE IT. Great education in basic Ayurvedic food thought and fantastic recipes. The fish chowder from southern India is to die for and works with any solid body fish. I had fun with it using smoked and fresh salmon as well as cod.

Easy to follow
I bought this book as I was interested in Ayurveda and healthy eating and wanted something that was easy to read and follow. This book did just that. As soon as I started to read the various chapters I understood the concept.By following what the book said, I discovered I was vata dominant and followed the basics. I now have a warm cooked breakfast daily rather than cold cereals. The recipes were interesting and varied. However I did struggle the first time round making some of the dishes as I was not familar with some of the ingredients. For example I made the blueberry pancakes and had never bought oats before and had no idea what quick-cooking oats to buy. Eventually after asking 3 sales assistants I bought something similar and managed to make them. They turned out to be super delicious.Overall this is a a great book and very easy to understand.

On the right track with Eat Right for Your Body Type
Anjum's Ayurveda Cookbook Eat Right for Your Body Type is well structured with plenty of information about Ayuverdic principles without being too scientific and complex. I particularly like how each recipe shows key tips on how to adapt to each of the Doshas. I'm a Vata-Pita and my partner is a Pita-Kapha - the Dosha symbols for the recipes allows us to adjust the menu without having to prepare separate meals. As a novice to Ayurveda I've loved the book and certainly recommend it to anyone embarking on the Ayuverdic way of living. Thank you Anjum. Loved the recipes found the Ayurvedic Stuff interesting
I had been to an ayurvedic practitioner before picking this book up, so I knew my 'type' already. I would recommend that those who use this book get 'diagnosed' first if they want to use this book to its best advantage. Obviously we are all a little bit of each and diagnosing yourself is always difficult because we see ourselves in all categories.Personally, I love this book.If you are trying to eat according to your type, it is often difficult to work out what to eat and how to combine them in recipes. I am a combination of two types and this book makes it easy to work out what to cook. Also, the recipes are presented beautifully and are easy to follow. One or two require a few specialised ingredients and I had to look up nigella seeds to find that they are black onion seeds and readily available, but other than that, I thoroughly recommend it.

Ayurvedic eating made easy
I have a longstanding interest in the subject of Ayurveda and have purchased cook books in the past, some easier than others to get to grips with. This one comes top of my list for easy workable understanding of how to eat the Ayurvedic way for improving your overall wellbeing. The book was recommended to me by a friend as being user friendly and she was not wrong.

Dedication
I felt I had to change my eating habits and a friend has this book. It is a good book. Though to be totally honest I am finding it difficult to follow and change my old routines. Still some of the dishes I have managed have been good. As with all these things practise makes perfect. So easy to slip back into old habits. I had been to a Ayurevdic Therapist so I knew I was a Vatta which made it simpler.
