Perfect wireless speaker
Really love this system. I have two MusicCast 20s set up in stereo in a bedroom. The speakers sound great and are well designed with nice attention to detail throughout the experience. I can bluetooth audio from my Android phone, AirPlay from an iPhone, and use internet radio and Spotify from both. Spotify works perfectly. Bluetooth audio is rock solid. Love the preset buttons, which I have set to internet radio stations. Love the alarm feature. The app is well designed and functions perfectly. Ideally the system would also support Android Casting, but the bluetooth works so well I don't really mind. The setup process is slightly more technical than a Sonos, but it's completely acceptable and I had no issues setting up at all. The app is very nice to use.

Worth buying, buy two and pair them rather than a single unit.
I ordered two of these for stereo pairing, fantastic sound, easy to setup (do them one by one, for some reason I tried to set them both up at the same time which was stupid in hindsight haha). I wouldn't buy this as a single speaker, as a single I found the sound very mono and lacking in definition, once I paired it with another it completely changes everything. If you have a musiccast system, these work perfectly as a second zone and link easily through the software. I recommend using the musiccast app as you can tweak the sound profile of the speakers, as the default whilst it sounds ok once tweaked will be a lot better. Haven't had any connection issues like some of the other reviews. All in all, a great speaker for the price and does a fantastic job filling my kitchen with great sound.

Great speakers
These speakers are seriously awesome. Bought two from a company in Portugal and have since added two more through Amazon. Setting them up is simple, through the Musiccast app, and the first thing to do is update the firmware. Follow the instructions and don't leave the page until update is completed. It doesn't take too long. Playing music through the app is easy, and it sounds great. We have two mounted as surround speakers in the home cinema system and the other two as independent units. The only downside is that musiccast is specific to Yamaha, so you can't mix and match with other manufacturers, but we knew that going in so are not too worried about that. The speakers are Alexa enabled, but I can't get an Echo delivered to Portugal to try this out. Tl:dr ... delighted.

Better with a twin
I had bought into the Yamaha 'architecture' with an amp to drive two floorstanding speakers and a centre in my main living room. The speakers are another brand, but that matters not. When looking for a solution to replace an ageing and defective CD player in the kitchen/diner, I aimed my rifle at a product that would kill two birds with one stone - complete my surround sound package in the living room and provide versatile streaming solutions in the kitchen and elsewhere. Initially I went with one Music Cast 20. I liked it from the off - the sound is decent, lively and rounded for a single speaker, although lacking in power to fill a room, and obviously lacking in stereo. It is ideal on its own for a small space or at low volumes. Where it comes into its own is when paired with a second speaker and configured to stereo sound - it can then fill a decent sized room with very nice sound. The versatility is great, it (or they) can be carried off to be used in any room at any time. The other benefit, when paired with a compatible Amp, is that they can fill in as rear surround sound speakers. They do a good job, but I have to admit to not having any other home cinema set up to compare them to. Overall, the sound when paired is very good, one on it's own is OK. I have had few issues with the Yamaha App, this has worked pretty well. A good streaming solution for fans of internet radio and streaming services like Spotify and Tidal etc. Very popular with both the teenagers and the adults in my family!

Buy a toaster.. it’ll be better.
Oh dear, after reading so many decent reviews on this product I took the plunge and I have to say I’m left scratching my head and wondering what the hell is the point? The main issue with this product is the software... and that’s what makes these speakers so expensive. Without the software these are just an ok pair of speakers that require a plug socket and a rather unsightly (and short) cable, rather than thin speaker cables. But any advantages having a speaker connected to the internet are taken away by the fact the software that drives the speakers rarely works. On its own this speaker is absolutely awful. I even thought the speaker was faulty it’s that bad. Pair it up with another and yes, the sound is lovely, but so are much lower priced speakers... The IKEA Sonos speaker at £89 is way, way better... and IKEA don’t even make speakers... go figure. I’d seriously stay away from this product. Or at least read online reviews as you’ll see the problems a lot of people have with these speakers, the software is not easy and the system in general. I even had a compatible sound bar, which I gave away due to poor connection issues with my LG TV (another common issue) and the sound was so bad I just couldn’t bear it. Yamaha can’t possibly be proud of producing such a poor product.
