Brilliant TV
Perfect TV. I have a small room but with it on a wall mount - it's great for what I need. I thought it was easy enough to set up. Just a small fight with Disney+ app, but that was easy enough to work around. The sound isn't terrible to me, but I might very well end up investing in a sound bar in the future. For now, it was an excellent buy. I think the already installed apps are brilliant and you can add ones you want. Plenty of points to attach your consoles, a dvd player etc which I think is important. The picture quality is crisp and clear. All in all, a very happy customer.

Tries to be “smart”… fails.
Update: Gave it a week, and the more I used it the more problems I found. To cap it all, the TV started turning itself on overnight. Have returned for refund and replaced it with an LG 32LR60 - £30 more expensive, but much better picture and audio as well as exhibiting none of the issues I had with the TCL. Needed to replace an old un-Smart FHD-LCD TV that packed up. Simple set-up of HD-PVR for OTA and recording plus a FireStick for streaming and catch-up. Bought this with the intent that I could retire both the PVR and Fire. Spent most of the afternoon playing with the display settings to it didn’t feel like having lasers shone into my eyes – mostly by turning off every setting beginning “dynamic” – then discovered it won’t record. Turns out not everything on the internet is true, but that’s on me for incomplete research as I needed it in a hurry, so I can’t retire the PVR. Turning on the PVR wakes up the TV – great. Turning off the PVR, TV stays awake – not so great. Tried the TV catch-up apps only to find they only play in 720p and not 1080p, despite the TV being FHD, so can’t retire the FireStick either. However, the TV doesn’t like having the FireStick plugged in, and keeps throwing messages about “losing” its remote. Now, after a few days use, TV will randomly stop displaying *any* installed apps until it’s hard-rebooted. It's also started complaining about some sort of “tuned channel conflict,” so I have to pick the option to let if sort itself out, only to get the same message the following day… and the day after, and the day after that. All in all, if you plan to use this as a stand-alone internet-only TV and don’t care too much about low-res catch-up, then you’ll probably be OK with this. However, it’s clear that no effort has been put in to anything beyond that most basic of use-cases, and it all feels very half-ar5ed.

Reasonable budget TV, BBC iPlayer and Freely are now supported on the 32SF560-UK 2025 model
Buyer beware! Please read my review if you are considering buying this 2025 model of TV. Update as of22/07/2025. Today an update was released which enabled BBC iPlayer and Freely to work correctly on this TV. Freely seems to work very well with it behaving exactly like regular Freeview TV except over the internet rather than over an aerial. I have upgraded my score from 3/5 to 4/5 to reflect this. I have bought the 32" 2025 model of the TV. 32SF560-UK My initial impressions were very positive. The TV has a vibrant picture and very responsive user interface. The remote control may need to be pointed directly at the TV to work, but I'm not 100% on that. I currently have it connected via Wi-Fi, and the initial set up was straight forward and fast. The TV needed to go through multiple updates and it also updated the remote control. I do not have an aerial for this TV so I am reliant on Wi-Fi and apps for any entertainment content. The stand for the TV is very sturdy, no complaints. However, I will be mounting it to the wall should I keep this TV. There are two HDMI sockets on the rear of the TV. Be aware that HDMI 2 may be difficult for an external device such as a Fire Stick as the Speaker casing will block it unless you have a small HDMI extension cable. There is a 5V 0.5A USB socket but this seemed sufficient to power an old Fire Stick. I'll get to why I needed to try a Fire Stick shortly. There is an Antenna and a Satellite connection too, along with Headphone socket. An AV socket which is 3.5mm socket, so will likely need an adapter for it to allow Composite input, a Common Interface, and an optical output and Ethernet round up the connections. They appear to be laid out in the same way as the 2024 model. Amazon Prime, Netflix, ITV-X, Four, Five apps all wok well. They have a good picture quality so no complaints there. Screen sharing and casting using Airplay seems to work well. However, the picture quality is not as good as using the actual YouTube app as the picture does suffer from macro block artefacts. Sound is on the weak and rather tinny side, so may be best to pair with a soundbar such as the Sony HT-SF150 which is also in Prime Day sale for £89.99. This is where I come to the issue I have with it. Look at the photos of the box, you can see it says use Freely to access all your programming that you want - specifically BBC - and also the photo of the TV on the box also shows BBC iPlayer. When I attempt to launch BBC iPlayer I get the error message "Sorry, this application is not currently available." I have attempted a factory defaults reset, loaded from Fire Stick backup, from fresh set up. I am not able to run BBC iPlayer, and this was the main reason for purchasing this TV. I have spoken to both Amazon and TCL and the responses were not ideal for me. Amazon suggested either contact TCL for support as its their TV, or return for a refund. The return was not an option for me since I purchased the TV in Prime Day sale using Amazon gift cards and if I returned it the Prime Day sales will have ended and any good price for a TV will be gone. So, I contacted TCL and they said since the software is Amazon's I should speak to Amazon and they cannot help since its a software issue. Far from ideal! It was also suggested check the BBC iPlayer compatibility web page, and the 2025 model of TCL TVs are not on there. This is very likely the problem, and thus the only thing to do is wait for the BBC to check and OK BBC iPlayer for the TCLs 2025 TV range. The 2024 model of this TV (32SF540) is on the compatibility list so I presume that works OK. I tried my old Fire Stick plugged in to HDMI 1 and the power plugged in to the USB socket, and BBC iPlayer works OK but since its an old device the picture quality is not as good or as vibrant as that of the apps running on the actual TV. If they run that is! Finally, yes I know the screen protector the TV came with is still applied, I've not taken it off as of yet as I'm not convinced I will keep the TV due to iPlayer not being able to run on the TV. In summary, its a reasonable budget TV which is massively let down by the fact that despite being advertised on the box, BBC iPlayer is not supported as of yet on the 32SF560-UK 2025 TV.

A good bedroom TV set, if not a cheap main tv.
This replaced a smaller bedroom TV. We're more than happy with this. It's not used much, we do have an aerial lead but when the weather is bad it pixilates a little, but not with this model that uses the Internet and can operate without an aerial. Picture quality is actually pretty good, and the convenience of the Alexa compatibility is great. We've not experianeced serious lag, but then it's not an expensive TV anyway.
