Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life

A Conversation with a Dear Friend
My book came today, I pre-ordered a few months ago. I'm sitting here at work, getting nothing done because I can't put the book down. Like many people, I've admired the Brady family for years and often wondered about their personal life and how they maintain what looks like such perfection. Gisele's book thus far (I'm half way through) is like sitting down and having a conversation with an old friend. She brings the same refreshing honesty to the pages as you would expect. From what she makes the kids for breakfast and her morning routine, to her life's greatest lessons. It's all heart, it's all Gisele. I have to confess I skipped ahead to read about Vida, her precious companion and best friend during her years alone traveling abroad. I am left with tears in my eyes, the love just poured off the pages. I'm going to save the rest of the book for when I get home tonight but wanted to give a review to anyone wondering about this book. It's not a "how-to, I know everything" book, it's a heart-warming "this is what's worked for me, maybe it can help you" story, filled with gratitude and honesty. If you're a fan of Gisele's you'll absolutely love it.

SO BORING
Ughhh are celebrities so locked up by NDAs they can't give you ANY juice???! If you want to hear a model spitting garbage about "meditating every day" and "taking her kids to school" this is the book for you. If you want to hear about what it's like to make a living on your looks, hardest modeling jobs, traveling internationally, what the industry is really like, what it must have been like when your bf knocked up her ex gf, getting secret plastic surgery, dieting as a model - you will not find it in this book. Fine - even if Bundchen doesn't want to talk about her private life, we still could have heard about her professional life and what it takes. Total Snoozefest. Pass.

not yet finished reading but riveting stuff!!!!!
I am a big Tom Brady fan - go Pats! - and of course I know who Gisele Bundchen is, and seen photos, but never really connected to the person behind the photos. My wife pre-ordered this book, it came today, she went off to work and out of curiosity, even though it's not really my sort of thing, I started reading it. That was two hours ago! It's a very terrific combination of memoir - when you think about someone, anyone, leaving home when they were 14 and making their way in the world as she did it just blows my mind - and, like the title says, Lessons, meaning spiritual lessons, things not to forget, things she learned or found out about the hard way. This is a perfect present to give to someone in their teens or their twenties or, well, as I said, it's not really the sort of book I read in general but I've picked up a lot it already and can't wait to finish - so maybe I should say it's a perfect present for anyone in your life! Bravo Brady family and especially bravo ms. Bundchen!

A insightful and honest look into the real woman behind the famous persona.
When someone lives in the public eye, you think you know them. I was surprised at how honest she was about her fears, her struggles and her uncertainty about her marriage, her career, and life. You get a sense of who she really is. A woman, just like any other. Fame and fortune do not guarantee a charmed life. I was very impressed by how she deals with and rises above challenges and obstacles. She works hard to have, keep and maintain the life she has.

Inspirational!
This book is a must read whether you like Gisele or not. She was so real, exposing every part of her life. I admire her honesty and her philosophies about how to live life and her relentless devotion to saving the environment. I enjoyed reading this book immensely and I would recommend it to anyone.

Inspiring & Heartfelt Book
I absolutely loved this book! Gisele’s vulnerability and honesty is refreshing to read. It’s interesting to get to see the private side of her, in her own words. Her love of learning and sharing her love and light shines bright. The struggles that she faced and how she overcame them, teaches attainable lessons. I am excited to try a lot of them out now in my own life. This book makes a perfect gift to yourself, friends and family.

A surprisingly lovely easy to read book
I got the kindle edition (since I had sometime that day and I didnt want to wait couple days for the physical book). I typically would not purchase a book by a supermodel celebrity person but I liked what I read in the sample pages and made a decision to get the digital copy. The writing is easy to read, organized well and has the right number of photographs of the family. It is almost like having a conversation with the author. Having read the book, just feels like I would not have enjoyed the listening version of the book. This is a book to be read and read quickly. I related with Gisele as human, as a mother and a wife. I could also see she is a very well-read, insightful and thoughtful person and there was plenty in this book to get inspired by. The simplicity and the depth of the book and the author caught me by surprise and I recommend this quick read to anyone.

Disappointing and Unrealistic
This book was terribly disappointing from the summary in which I purchased it. There is no new life changing news on coping with anxiety. It is poorly written and mostly tells the story of her life more as a memoir rather than a self help book. She is kind of whinny in parts and very bragging that she thinks she is a great person. Most of her suggestions also include hiring someone to help, a gardener, cook, yoga instructor. Not realisitic for the common person.

Life lessons for all of us by Gisele
Spread out over the eight chapters, Bündchen delivers a mish mash of a biography and life advice for us all, and arguably I think it’s perhaps aimed more towards women than men, even though what she does impart is applicable for both. What I did enjoy is that for someone who has played a stereotype, the supermodel, who publicly usually says very little - Gisele’s advice comes from the heart and she means well by it all, having gone through some trying times in her early career. If the book is filed under biographies, then perhaps it’s not as deep on this label as I would have liked it to have been, as the timeframes are not particularly chronological. The end result is a quick and easy read, and Bündchen writes what could be best be described as a self help book with a strong autobiographical element and hey, it is a comfort to see that even the rich and successful have problems like the rest of us.The question is that will 2019 make (m)any of us brave enough to sort ourselves out?4 stars for the life advice, 3 stars for the autobiographical element.

Beautiful account of a search for meaning and the discovery of her formula of balance.
How could my admiration for Gisele grow? This book allowed to learn about her struggles and dilemmas, not very different from my own.Her wisdom is laid out in simple ways, showing that the formula for a balanced life doesn't need to be that different, that we are all souls seeking the same things in life. Her work to protect the environment and life of our current and next generations is inspiring and shows that we can all take simple steps to get to a better place.

Love this Book, a Great quarantine read, a book to pick up and enjoy, in a sitting or on the go.
Beautifully written, set out and structured. It's an honest mini biography with tips, lessons and wonderfully introspective reflections from a well traveled, world weary and wonderfully positive and hopeful person. She will embolden you, are you with tools and valuable advice and comfort you with stories and words of great wisdom. An Old Soul spreading her truth, hard won. Great Read.
