Sorry for the lousy video. This is a model kit that you have to assemble, and paint, if you wish. The one I built in the video came from a different release that the one listed above, which comes with a black display stand, and no label.

Q: Do you need a light kit for the death star

If you want your Death Star to emit light, you will have to come up with something. Bandai’s Return of the Jedi Clear Vehicle kit contains this model, as well as the Millennium Falcon, an X-Wing, and a Y-wing molded in clear plastic, which is much easier to light.

Q: I'm purchasing as a gift.. what paint and colors should i get to go with this death star model?

Black, dark gray, medium gray, light gray Look up dry-brushing, and washing with a thinned out black to show details. Nice model. I primed mine with a thin coat of a dark gray enamel spray. After that went to acryillics to drybrush high spots with lighter layers of gray then the black wash, a little touch up and highlight with the lightest gray. SeaL with dullcote
