Triple Album Collection

Being an old goth and very long time Sisters fan, it was nice to get all three of their studio albums on CD in one handy box, especially since I still have my entire Sisters collection on vinyl, but with no record player to play them.The sound across all three disks is good, though there will always be those that have a preference for different mixes/pressings/whatever of FALAA.There is another box set available with the studio albums plus Some Girls Wander By Mistake and A Slight Case of Overbombing (compilation albums) which is also pretty good, but the bonus tracks are what really make this particular box worth having, especially those on FALLA and Floodland - Neverland (full length) is just outstanding and this box is possibly the only place you can get it on an official CD.

I was expecting these cds to come in 'normal' jewel cases, as I have had other sets in the past. But wait, a nice slip case the size of just one cd. Saved me having to shift things around in the cd rack. Simple covers based on the original album covers. The printing of the cds though, all the same colour! Not the best of ideas. Sound quality is good but I could tell it wasn't from the original masters. But the bonus tracks more than make up for that. I bought these on vinyl first time round, when the Sisters were not the in thing. I gonna enjoy these. Now go and hear the roar of the big machine.

One star is knocked off for the presentation and not the music. I thought being on the Rhino label this box set would be very good. No. You get 3 cds in 3 card cases that are not faithful to the original albums. No lyrics, no photos, even no info on who plays on which album.Really shoddy and terrible and an insult to the SoM.I got this for Floodland which is excellent and the bonus tracks are nearly better.Great music presented badly.

Okay, i admit it.I was a closet Goth.Now middle-aged with an ever increasing paunch that would shame a heavily pregnant Rhino, a solar panel for a sex-machine and a face that makes Welsh rocks look uncraggy...Still, love to listen to doom-laden apocalyptic Eldritch drum machine tunes.Bring on the zombie apocalypse, then we shall see who was right!
