Managing the Wet Garden: Plants That Flourish in Problem Places

Color really matters
This book contains much of the information I needed, however, the e-textbook version is entirely black and white. Exceedingly disappointing to find out you paid for a book on plants only to find that the photos of autumn color and "spectacular winter colour" are in black and white and are pretty much only useful in that they provide a name of a plant you have to look up online or in other reference material, in order to see the coloration. Considering that color is a major factor in garden planning, especially in water gardens, where color is reflected, it renders the majority of the information useless. Would not recommend for that reason.

Missing idea photos
I got this as a gift for my sister. The backyard in her new house tends to flood during summer rains. It was great in the sense that it had a ton of plants that would work well in wet areas. However, it was very much like an encyclopedia, just showing one plant and description per page or so. I was disappointed that it barely included any "ideas" photos with completed wet gardens that looked like something she might be able to reproduce. Thus, it was good information but not great as a gift.

Nice book, just not what I needed
It covers a lot of detail about gardening and plants, but I really should have bough something more aimed at agriculture.

Useful Book
Good book with a lot of detail about damp gardens, and the best plants for waterlogged soil. This is a very comprehensive study, and will be very useful to me over the coming years as I plant up a fairly blank plot.

Excellent book with lots of botanical knowledge
Excellent book with lots of botanical knowledge, but a bit short on pictures of the recommended plants, though that can be remedied online.

So far better than any plant websites on bog plants
I am still working my way through this as I plan new planting in an area that seems to be permanently waterlogged. Usefully it has many more photos than the Beth Chatto equivalent book and I am learning lots. I have a pond so am used to marginal and submerged plants but this book has opened my eyes to many more varieties that can cope with permanent water around their roots - including bulbs. It also has many more suggestions than any of the websites I have visited for bog plants. A useful book if you have wet areas of your garden.
