Interesting book especially if you are from the area
I grew up in this area and with the children and\or grandchildren of many of the people mentioned in the book. My father was also witness to a gas station shooting referenced in the book. The improvement that I would make on the book would be the description of the locations. It sounds like this person was sometimes in Chicago and at other times in the south suburbs but it was confusing to figure out the geography of where he was at each turn. Map images might really help. Since I am only in my later fifties I obviously was not peers with any of these people but I was born while living in the "Hill" neighborhood of Chicago Heights and attended both San Roccos and St. Paul's churches in the vicinity until later transferring to St. Kieran's parish on Halsted. If you grew up in the area, you are familiar with the stories and familiar with many of the families. My mom also worked as a legal secretary to one of the lawyers that represented members of the Outfit when they got into legal trouble. I will not mention names on that one. He served his time and the family doesn't need to carry on the legacy.

Interesting local lore.
This book is directed at older Chicago Heights residents or those with knowledge of a particular time. Is this a rehash of local gossip? Possibly. It certainly addresses some of the old myths and tales.

Great book they mention my uncle Tony in it too!
Super great book about where I grew up. And also the author brings up my uncle Tony which was super cool. This is a non fiction book this is what was really going on in Chicago Heights!

My roots
I lived on “The Hill” in the heights and went to st Rocco. Our house was bought by the mob as my grandpa was one mentioned in this book. They would store cars and everything you could imagine in our home
