PowerbuiltAlltrade 640859 Adaptor & U-Joint Set, 7 Piece

So, a couple of these adapters and u joints are nice. Work well, feel like quality material. The rest of them I cant say... because i cant get them off the darn plastic that it comes on. what the heck! Talk about anti theft measures. They need to be in the security business instead because they did an awesome job preventing anyone from being able to steal these adapters off the packaging. If anyone buys this product, prepare to set aside a few hours just to take these off the packaging. Besides that, the actual product seems nice.

My husband bought these to help change out my Jeep's spark plugs. The Jeep engine is set up a bit ridiculous when it comes to these items, and the fact that there are 16 in the engine makes it quite a task. WIthout these, we never would have been able to reach some of the back spark plugs. These worked perfectly with our other tools to make the necessary bends to get into the harder to reach items.Pros: Worked great at getting to the harder to reach places, and connect easilyCons: Came disconnected trying to pull out a spark plug (but, this only happened once with all 16. The connection seemed stable the rest of the time).

These are more than sufficient for my use. I piddle on projects in my shop and these fill that bill. I read the reviews about how difficult these were to get off the packaging and sure enough they were difficult and broke off inside the socket head. Here is a tip that worked for me. I put the socket head in a vice and then drilled a hole (probably 1/8) all the way through the plastic. Then screwed a 2 inch long screw and it pushed the plastic out easy-peazy. Hope this helps with anyone having this problem.

I just received the adaptors and extensions. They look very good (I have not used them) but I am having a very difficult time to separate them from the plastic that they come inserted in. I think it is good that they make them very safe inserted there but not so impossible. If anybody has an advise on how to split them from the plastic easily I will appreciate it. Thanks.

Set seems to get the job done with no complaints so far. My only problem with this is the packaging of the sockets on brittle plastic that WILL snap off inside the socket with no easy way to remove. I ended up drilling a pilot hole into the plastic and inserting a small screw allowing me to use some pliers to remove the plastic. Out of the whole socket set only about 3 came off without having to use this method, but again extremely annoying especially to find this out when you need to use them quick.

The U-Joint set and adaptors look to be of good quality. The pins in the U-Joints look well made, strong and sturdy. Now, to get these off the plastic peg board they come packaged with, what I did was grab the plastic peg from the back with pliers and squeeze on the pliers with both hands. Then with Tennis Shoes on, hold the adaptor between your feet and pull hard backward with the pliers. Within 20 seconds I had them all off.

These adapters have a nice finish, and feel solid in the hand.My one gripe here is with the packaging -- they adapters came on a plastic display bar, and the sockets were extremely tight on the pegs. One of the pegs broke off inside the female end of a U-Joint, and I'm going to have to go at it with a drill tomorrow to try to extract it.

These are high quality swivel end sockets. I bought these to change out the spark plugs in my ram 1500 and have used them 3 other times already working on my tractor. I know there were alot of issues removing them from the package and maybe they have made an improvement but I had no issue at all. Definitely worth the purchase even to.just have in your toolbox for this.price.
