Pentosin 8042206 Pento High Performance II 5W-40 Full Synthetic Motor Oil for Four-Season Use; 5 Liter Jug

This oil is an old brand that is held in solid esteem. Although quite expensive, I chose it over Mobile One and Castrol Synthetic. Obviously, I cannot measure its effectiveness, so I have to trust its reputation. The engine seems to like it, as it doesn't stumble and feels normal (running). Exhaust pipe exit is clean as a whistle.

if you run a VW TDI, this is your oil... decent price too, a must for BEW Pump Duse engine, 505.01 has additive that protects the cam from premature wear. Injector pressure is pumped by cam lobes over the injectors, if you use cheap oil you will wear out your camshaft and have to have it replaced and it's very expensive, my Golf TDI bew is at 236,000 Miles currently, and runs like a champ. When I change my oil and filter I always end up with approximately 1/2 liter left over and I run the oil until it drops a little and I add some of my remaining oil, when I need too bring the level back up on the dipstick, until my half liter is completely gone, usually 5K to 6K miles, when I've added the last of my half litre, I order new jug and filter. Next time the level drops to lower part of hatched area, it's oil / filter change time.

I have a 2005 VW Golf TDI, a diesel BEW engine. For 3 years VW used the BEW, which has Pump Deuse injectors, one for each cylinder. They are run off of the camshaft which can create more wear. This Pentosin oil meets the VW 505.01 standard. I currently have 235,000 miles on my Golf & it doesn't burn a drop of oil.

I added this oil in my 2012 Volkswagen Beetle (Turbo). The engine feels good. For some reason, Autozone or O'reilly don't carry this brand any more. Recommend to buy this through Amazon.

The viscosity and quality of this oil is unmatched by any and all other competitors. I had to drain the oil I purchased form the dealership because it felt like total garbage. My turbos weren't even actuating while running the dealership oil in the engine - crazy! After reading online about all the different types of high quality oils out there, I gave this brand a shot. Let me just say, I am now a customer for life! Enough said - you are welcome - thank me later ;)

It is a high quality engine oil at a very reasonable price. Among all oils with MB Approval 229.51, this is one of the lowest cost; yet independent lab results rank Pentosin at the top of the heap.
