This gate is very sturdy, easy to open and latches easily without coming dislodged from the door frame. It was also easy to assemble by myself. I really like the base that prevents clumsy people like me, from dislodging the entire bottom of the gate from the door frame by tripping and kicking the gate. I do wish these gates came in a full door size, but thankfully for me, the height of this one is perfect. I don't like my bedroom door closed during winter because I don't use central heat. But I also don't allow my cats or dogs in my bedroom. They have the entire house, but that's my fur-free sanctuary. I have allowed a couple of cats in the past to sleep with me, but got sick of cat hairs getting in my eyes and on my work clothes. Anyway, the shorter gates that I use are worthless for keeping the cats out...but so far, after about of month with this much taller gate, they haven't even attempted to try to jump it. I use a propane heat during the winter months so having the gate allows some heat to warm up my bedroom in the evening. I'm considering purchasing another one of these gates for my backdoor. I have a once feral cat that if I'm distracted about keeping the laundry room door closed while I put the dogs out, he will jump the regular gate and dart out the door like a rocket! I wouldn't mind so much, but I'm out in the country and we have huge owls, hawks, and coyotes. My cats are strictly indoor cats...and that's where I want to keep them. But having a gate between the kitchen/laundry room and backdoor would be great for fresh air coming in, but no cat going out!

We used this to help separate and slowly introduce our kitties to each other. The gate is incredibly sturdy, easy to use and useful as you can install these almost anywhere in your house with the use of the tension rods. Only negative to this gate is instructions could be a bit more clear as we spent most of our time interpreting instructions.

When I needed to begin Peritoneal Dialysis, my Doctors told me that our cats would suddenly become off limits (cat hair and Litter would increase the risk of infection and serious illness for me). Our kitties were used to being allowed in every room in our home. Luckily, this gate was easy to install, flexible enough to fit in an arched hallway threshold without tools, and tall enough that my high-jumping cat never even attempts to jump over the top. It's easy to open with one hand (I can open the swinging door in our out, which is convenient). It's also quiet, so if I need to open the gate while my husband is asleep, it doesn't wake him. This gate has saved my health. It has created a sanitary haven so I can get well. It was affordable and of great quality. I truly love this gate!

Great sturdy gate. Easy to assemble despite very vague instructions. Only issue is that my cats jumped over it pretty easily. Should have gotten a 71" gate.

I’m really impressed with this tall pet gate. It was super easy to install and feels really sturdy. The height is perfect for keeping my cat contained without making the space feel closed off. The latch works smoothly and I love that it swings both ways. Definitely worth it if you want something functional that also looks nice in your home!!

We’ve had the gate for +/-1 year. Since it came in, we have only taken it off once x a few days - & then we reinstalled it. So we have used it a lot.Only reason I gave 4, instead of 5 stars, is b/c the connections from the extension to the main piece are very thin - so it’s difficult to get the gate straight. But, it’s do-able. And once the gate is installed - it’s stays in place. Even when there are 4 small/medium dogs leaning in it - it stay in place.It has a great locking system - my dogs haven’t figured out how to open the gate.I have it installed in the hall entry way, not a door.Fits & functions great - As described on the webpageIf you’re looking x a tall secure gate - this is a good deal! It was costly - but it’s made with sturdy material. Which is important b/c I didn’t want the gate to collapse - & the dogs go all over the house.I am very happy with this purchase.It was completely worth it.

Perfect for my cats, too high to jump over, good quality. Handle is a little hard to use but, then it is also for children. Good choice!

I searched for quite awhile trying to find the correct gate for my kittens. Most gates are too short. I've been using this about two months now and it's been perfect for my situation. I have a kitten that is really adventurous and I am worried that she will escape from the house one day as I have two roommates that go in and out of the front door a lot. They may accidentally leave the front door cracked for a moment or come back inside while my kitten is waiting for them and she may run out. She's already gotten in the garage a couple of times. Since putting up the gate I was finally comfortable letting the cats free roam the house. It's a little inconvenient for the humans by design, but it keeps the kittens from being able to sneak out when we aren't paying attention. The gate was easy to install, has been very sturdy, and is easy to open and close.
