Used for the first time at Disney World
I used this for the first time at Disney World in January, and how does it compare to pads and tampons? In my best Elsa voice (which isn't too shabby), "I'm never going back; the past is in the past!". Seriously, I will NEVER wear pads or tampons again. This is the best purchase! THE SHORT REVIEW: This product is very easy to use, especially once you get the hang of it. It takes a few tries to make sure it is a perfect fit and comfortable (don't be afraid to turn it inside out if you can feel it). It is much less messy to empty and reinsert than you might imagine--remember, I was doing this for the first time in Disney stall bathrooms, and it wasn't bad! Strangely, I feel like this reduces the cramps and pressure that I used to have with my period. Now, I almost forget that I am having it! I am so confident in this product that I have worn white shorts with no pad, liner, or tampon this summer, and I have had no worries when in a bathing suit. Amazing! THE TMI REVIEW: This does have a little learning curve--it may take several tries to get it inserted perfectly. I have a very low cervix, so I ended up using the large cup but turned it inside out. It is still easy to remove even though the "string" is not hanging down. I did this because I could still feel the cup when it was right side out. It worked perfectly! Occasionally, the cup will not "pop" back open after folding it to insert. Make sure the base of it feels round before assuming it is working--I had one little mishap because the cup was still flat--just use your finger to make sure it opens if it is still flat. The first time you use it, you will be a little surprised at what comes out when you empty. It is startling at first. It is best to empty at least every 12 hours. In the shower it is very easy to rinse and replace, and in a private bathroom the same is true. In public stalls, you have to empty and replace without rinsing, but it is not hard and not really messy at all if you are careful. I definitely would not go more than 12 hours without rinsing. You will also appreciate the virtual lack of any smell. It should be very comfortable! Much more comfortable than a pad or tampon. Most of the time, I do not even remember I have it in. As I said above, I do not really have cramps any more. I have no idea why or how that works, but it does! And that awful gravitational pull where your uterus feels like it is going to fall out of your privates is virtually non-existent! It really is amazing. I recommend these to everyone, and I will never go back!

From a skeptic, now in puppy love :D
Do you know the meme "Everything went better than expected"? That was seriously my face over here! This might be a little squishy/gross talk so fair warning... I've been toying with the idea of going reusable instead of disposable for a few years, I just either had a bad experience or was too scared to take a leap. Seriously, Softcups and a tilted uterus? Yeah, serious mess. :( I would have been better off putting a plastic baggy up there to contain things. On top of all this, I had no clue what size cup to go with either and let's face it, with Diva being 40 bucks? There was that concept of wasting money on something that didn't work and you couldn't return. That just sucks. In comes Luna Cup. Small if you're under 30/never had a baby/light flow or large if you've had a kid/over 30/heavy flow. I seriously can't mess this up! And you're not getting charged an arm/leg/ovary. I keep reading and see stories from women who have heavy flow/tilted uteri (great band name)/horrid cramps/et al who are loving and benefiting from these bad boys. Finally, the concept that they're firm enough not to leak but soft enough to move with you so you're not feeling them? *passes over credit card* GREAT packaging! The bag is really a nice way to store the cups when not in use and the instructions made me feel confident with prep, insertion, removal and storage. Everything was nicely wrapped (and easy to recycle). Now for the gross stuff. Kids, hide your eyes. I finally got my period today so I finally got to try it out. In my *counts to self* um, numerous years of getting these darned things I think this might be the first time I've ever been excited. The first couple times didn't go exactly perfect but the third time was the proverbial charm. I almost wish I had a picture of my face because it literally was an AHAH moment when things um, clicked. And no lie, it's actually comfortable. I was expecting that gross tampon feeling (fullness, having to pee, and if you're ocd, the worry that you didn't get it in right and you're going to die from TSS). Nope, just normal cramps. Now I did buy these Heart Felt Bamboo Reusable Sanitary Pads Blue Lace Print X 5 with Charcoal Absorbency Layer. The Smartest New Way to Avoid Leaks, Odors and Staining. Save Hundreds of Dollars and Massive Amounts of Landfill Waste with Washable Incontinence Pads. Pretty Pattern, Secure Snap to Stay in Place and Total Peace of Mind with These Top Quality Reusable, Washable Menstrual Cloth Pads and Heart Felt Bamboo Reusable Cloth Menstrual Pads XL (Spots Print, 5 Pack) Charcoal Absorbency Layer. Washable, Reusable Sanitary Pads. Say No To Disposable Tampons & Sanitary Napkins as well. I'm wearing the first one as a back up because I'd rather be overly protected than have an accident However, I'm feeling confident and that it will only get better as time goes on! If things change, I'll update this as needed. If you have any questions, please feel free to hollar at me!!

So Comfortable
After doing quite a bit of research and reading over dozens of reviews. I decided to purchase The Luna Cup. What attracted me was the fact that you get two cups, a small and a large which I thought was perfect for both my heavier and lighter days. I ordered at the start of my period and they arrived at my house within two days. To begin, they arrived in discrete packaging which I do appreciate, but once I opened it there was this adorable little purple and blue box and inside of that were my cups and a note thanking me for my purchase (nice touch). You do not get to pick your colors or the bags that they come in but let me just say, you will not be disappointed. I got a purple(s) and a yellow(L) and two pretty well made bags to store them in, ones a pouch and the other is a zipper one, love them both. Now on to the cups, I checked to make sure there were no manufacturers errors and that the stems are nice and durable, the silicone is not too soft, not too firm...just right. Cute little half moon logo on the side, excellent quality. Everything checked out so I preceded to boil my cups for a few minutes and once they were good and sterized I started with the larger one since my flow was still kind of heavy. Insertion took a couple of tries but once it was in I couldnโt feel a thing, itโs like it wasnโt even there. I honestly couldnโt believe how comfortable it was. Most cups are nearly double the price, and you only get one. I guess I didnโt expect one that are this affordable to be such good quality and comfortable, and the fact that you get two is a win win. Towards the end of my period I tried the small one and was equally as happy with it...it was perfect for my lighter days and I experienced no leakage with either cup. I am so pleased with my purchase.

Good product but not for me
This product is pretty good, I put it in over night it was pretty easy to put in and take out especially with the stem. However I donโt think a menstrual cup is for everyone, it was painful for me to put in and take out. (Note I think I put it in too fast and let it unfold too fast creating an air bubble in there) it was suctioned in there really good though no leaks on the first try! So those of you who are experienced will like that. It was painful taking it out I released the suction but then when I tried to remove it, it unfolded itself and felt like it was sucking when it was half way out. Painful. ๐ Iโm sure with practice I would get really good at it. And I know what I did wrong putting it in and taking it out. (New people make sure to have it folded when you take it out the whole way out so it doesnโt hurt! And make sure to not let it unfold right away when you put it in like let it go slowly) Anyway, I am pretty lazy person so I think Iโm going to just stick with disposable tampons and mini pads since my period is only heavy the first three days. Boiling the cups is too much work. And I donโt like to have(British accent) Bloody fingers! Itโs a bit messy. Luckily I have two gfs who use this product regularly and love it. I tried it not for me so one of them can have the large unused one and they will be like yessss free one! Lol happy experiments, know it takes time to get it right if you like a challenge go for it!

Best cup I've tried!
This cup is perfect for me, and it represents such a middle ground in size, shape, firmness, and capacity that I bet it would with really well for the vast majority of women. I highly recommend it and will be buying another set for my daughter! When I purchased this, I had never used a cup before and wanted to try a range of sizes and firmness levels (because these factors matter very much when deciding which cup works best for your body and your typical flow.) For your reference, I am of average height and build, overweight but not obese, I have a moderate to heavy flow, and have given birth to three babies. My cervix is lower than it once was (lol), like I can reach it easily. So I ordered: 1) the Super Jenny, because it was the largest capacity cup I could find and came highly recommended by women (like me) who suffer from endometriosis and terrible cramps. This is because it is very "soft", meaning that the silicon that the cup is made from is very flexible, not nearly as rigid as the Diva Cup. A softer cup puts less pressure on surrounding tissues. 2) the Lena Cup, because it was recommended by some friends as easy to place, since it is quite firm and bounces back immediately when folded. Also, like the Super Jenny, it is American made, and I try to support our local economy when it's feasible. 3) this set of two Luna Cups, a large and a small, because it was a great price for 2 cups, and I thought, what the hell. Bottom line: the Luna Cup wins (for me) hands down. The Super Jenny was too soft, so it was hard to get it to pop open once inserted, and the Lena Cup was too firm, so it was uncomfortable and made my cramps worse. But this one, the Luna, is perfect; soft enough to be comfortable, firm enough to get into place and stay there. Also, the Super Jenny was just way too big, and the Lena was too tall. The Luna does its job perfectly, and I can't feel it at all! It has handy measuring inside, too, which helps to plan how long you can leave it in. I have been emptying it about twice a day, and it's great. I would also like to note that both the small and the large are very comfortable for me. I use the large during the first few days of my cycle, then switch to the small, but I could actually use either one through the whole thing and be just fine. Highly recommended!

Bought this set and then another!!!
I'm a new cup convert! I purchased this set after my last period realizing it's been 28 years of pad and tampon use. Only to still have leak issues, ruined underwear, sheets and countless pairs of pants over the years. I did as much research as possible, given I don't have a mentor or gal pal who could guide me in any direction. I also didn't want to commit to a lot of money or compromise my safety. I received them promptly (Prime), the packaging was sealed and as pictured in the advertisement. Very pretty and I was excited to be able to try this new adventure only now I have to wait a month. Oops! I put them up and checked out a few articles here and there and patiently waited for that dreaded time of the month with a new hope. I watched videos on folds so the learning curve wouldn't be incredibly steep. My first try was successful! My period came late in the day so I jumped into the deep end with both feet and put in the small cup and went to bed only trusting the cup. I have a hard time sleeping the first night always so my sleep was restless but completely LEAK FREE!!!! The cup was barely noticeable. A little tricky to get out on the first try (I needed to cut my nails). I thought for sure I must've just had light flow and that surely switching to a cup cannot be this much of a life changing experience. I was wrong! The cup was full and I was clean, as were my pjs and the bed sheets. I then switched to the large cup cause I know my flow would be more intense. My flow was heavy and the large cup managed to make it close to 8 hours. I experienced my first leak due to the cup being at capacity. The leak was different, the mess was different and nothing was beyond a simple clean!! It was incredible. I joined a few groups and liked a few pages only to see this cup listed in the "not ethical or recommended" lists. I panicked and promptly contacted Ferayco with my concerns and asked to be provided with the testing proof that this is indeed medical grade silicone and was also given the reason why. I was not only satisfied with their prompt and helpful response but also relieved. The customer service is more than anyone could ask for and the product is well worth every penny. I recommend a few things: *if you have the money get 2 sets right away *all the sizing charts out there and your age and how many children you have or haven't had aren't truly going to determine how comfortable any cup is or isn't. I used both sizes during my period with success and will continue to do so. Variety is important, your body changes day to day. *be patient with yourself and do your research!! Thank you for such a life changing safe product.

Game changer!
I was hesitant to try a menstrual cup for a couple reasons; it seems like an unusual idea to get used to, I have trouble with tampons staying in place, and if these are so great why don't more women know about them? It is sort of a different idea, but once you give it a try it is no big deal. From my own guessing (no medical knowledge) tampons don't stay in well for me because I've had 3 children naturally and things just get shifted after that, so sometimes tampons kind of move their way out with normal movement throughout the day for me. I was worried I'd have the same problem with a cup, but thankfully they make a suction or seal so they may shift with squatting or some movement but doesn't come unsealed so it sort of sucks back up/stays in place when you move again. I do find my cup more comfortable to wear turned inside out so the stem is inside the cup and not rubbing or irritating anything by sticking out. Some wonder if it's harder to get out that way but it like gives a base for you to grab when you need to take it out. Personally, bearing down to bring it closer to take out exposed enough to grab onto anyway. Yes it takes a little getting used to inserting it properly (but so do tampons!). I have a heavy cycle so I do have to empty mine around 6 hours on the heavy days, but that beats 2-3 hours with a tampon. Other pros: If you think you're going to start just put it in and there's no waiting for the tell tale soiled feeling. No painful removal if it's not full like with a tampon. Can easily use the restroom without removal. Less waste! Lastly I do not know why more women don't know about this option other than the fact that women don't like to think about a reusable option because it sounds unsanitary. More women need to be introduced to the idea, it took me more than a year to decide to try it because it seemed weird but I'm so glad I did! This has been a fantastic thing for me and I love that it came with a case and two sizes (I use the large). So glad I got brave enough to try it!

Not for me
These were the very first menstrual cups I ever bought and I was not impressed. I bought them because I thought they would be a safer and ultimately less expensive alternative to tampons, but I don't think they are for me. I'm giving them 3 stars because maybe they would work for someone else. I tried these everyday for one menstrual cycle and each time I had leakage, discomfort and difficulty inserting and removing the cup. I also think they made my flow heavier because there seemed to be a lot of blood. I don't know if I always inserted them incorrectly, but I also had a lot of blood leak out, even if they had only been in for an hour or so. They were painful to put in and seemed to big. I twisted them around once I shoved them in (b/c they did not go in easily) to get them to open up, but I am not sure they ever really did. It was also really difficult to remove them. They kind of suction in there and you have to pull really hard to get them out. I also slept with one in one night, and it got sucked up pretty far, which made it difficult to get out. The tab you are supposed to pull to remove them is short and difficult to grasp, which makes removing them tough. Sadly, these have turned me off menstrual cups in the future and I will stick with tampons, since I am more comfortable using those
