As a 35 year plus, retired tool designer in Solidworks, Mechanical Desktop, Pro-E, Cad key, and several other softwares This was just going to be a hobby, after 2 months my return date has expired and yet to get this thing to work NOT AT ALL!!! Been on FQ on ACEMER and Fireburn, and every help i could find on the WWW, Watched hours of Youtube videos and still nothing, no help, go to ACMER site for help, they send you to the Fireburn sight to work things out, Fireburn great sight, but, they service all kinds of lasers,you cant find Acmer S2 warning high limit warnings and how to "rehome" nor clear the "com port busy" Laser head stays in the same place 100% of the time Both PC and Acmer have been unplugged overnight, still Alarm 1: High Limit Warning, I guess nobody knows how to clear that,other than that was easy to assemble, only good thing i have found

Laser stopped working couldn't get tech support or customer service it always goes to voice.. so I just returned it

I got this laser engraving machine to make home made signs. This laser engraving machine has been wonderful to have to use for all of my home projects. First putting this laser together because it came in lots of pieces. The directions for assembling this unit were good, but not 100% the best. I like that the instructions had lots of clear color photos which helped me with the assembly. The whole assembly took me about 1 hour to complete. I really like that the instructions and the screws for each step were in a separate bag and well labeled. Setting up the laser with my computer was very straight forward, I went with the free software to use with this laser which works pretty good for myself. I liked that I can preview my laser print and change how dark or light I want it to burn. I have really enjoyed using this laser as its easy to setup and burn things. I like that it comes with a adjustment block to get the laser focus perfect. One thing this doesn't come with is a cover as it can produce a lot of laser wood dust, so I got that separately and has really helped on the smell and dust. I like this laser engraver because it can burn onto a wide variety of materials. I mostly have used it for making wood signs. I have also made metal dog tags with this laser and they turn out great.

This is a great laser engraver and cutter. I was worried about setting it up incorrectly, but the instructions in the manual were easy to follow and I was able to put it together in about 40 minutes. I was also worried that I might incorrectly use it and burn a hole in something I didn't mean to burn a hole in. But again, the instructions are good and the Lightburn program is intuitive and easy to use. Once I was up and running, and got over my unfounded worries, I actually did well and produced several cool wood engravings and a couple of projects with the laser cutter. I'm still learning, but I think this is a great laser engraver and cutter and is easy to use for beginners like me. It is very well made and has a lot of great functions. It's a really neat tool to have and I can't wait until I try some additional projects and make some personalized gifts for the holidays.

I gave this laser, the ACMER 7W laser, to my husband for Christmas. He loved it so much that he purchased the ACMER 33W laser from ACMER. The 7W is great, but the 33W has some issues. It won't run without the belt popping off of the bobbin that holds it, which means that the 33W is unusable. He has purchased a new belt, the old one doesn't look straight to me, but it hasn't come yet. He opened a ticket with ACMER a week ago and is not getting any response at all from the company. The 33W was not purchased from Amazon, but if anyone is in the mood to upgrade from the 7W sold here to the 33W from ACMER, don't. It's not worth your money as it becomes a paperweight within a couple of weeks of purchasing. I would not recommend the 33W.
