BLACK+DECKER 12-Cup Grind and Brew Coffee Maker

I LOVE this machine! This is my first grind and brew and I did a lot of research before purchasing. I found out that the quality of these types of machines have gone down and all of them break around a year so I figured I would go with a cheaper one if I was going to replace it anyways, plus there is a two year warranty through B&D. While the design of the grinder/filter isn't perfect it does the job and I haven't had any problems with sediment or grinds at the bottom of the pot and have found the grinder does a good job of grinding the beans. It isn't the easiest to clean with the blades at the bottom but I have spray handle on my sink which makes cleaning super easy! Overall cleaning is easy with just a few parts to rinse. Must be cleaned and set up after each use with the design of the grinder and water reserve. I like my coffee hot so I didn’t want a thermal carafe and I've found this maker makes a pot of coffee at the PERFECT temperature. I have the hot plate set to be on for two hours that is set to be made at 6am to go off for my BF who wakes up an hour earlier than I do. By the time I wake up at 7 grab a cup, shower and get ready there is still more hot coffee waiting for me at 8am! It's the perfect temp to be hot enough without burning my tongue. I have found the glass on the coffee pot to be plenty thick. I had read many reviews complaining of thin glass that breaks easily and replacement pots are hard to find (I didn't find any B&D or universal replacement pots online that say that work with this machine) so I make sure to be extra careful when cleaning the pot to not break the glass. I live in a small one bedroom and don't even hear the grinder go off in the morning so it's relatively quiet. I've found the machine makes a great pot making just 4 cups as it does making 12. The only tricky thing I found was setting the strength level - you have to be in "program" to change this setting otherwise the machine is easy to use. Great machine and very happy with my purchase.

Your coffee house won't miss you, but you may arrive after your first cup when you start using this B&D mill & brew!I was (kinda) hoping to get that coffee house flavor with this. I figure it's a "regular" drip coffee maker, with a grinder. It pretty much is. No blooming, no rain shower brew head so get the best beans that you can. Because those are what makes the cup. I have been playing around with beans for some time now, since getting this coffee maker & I actually came across the ones which make the brew house coffee that I have been trying to make at home (see review elsewhere here). The pot helps, but it's the beans!"I don't want a decent cup of coffee. I want a great cup of coffee". Before finding the right coffee (I'm not done by any means). The bottom line is that it's about the beans, & so few miss the mark.I was only rating this machine at about a 3.5. It behaves very well, & the nearly direct brew is good. My 12 dollar drip does that. I really like the flavor that comes from the brews on this B&D. I don't like that you can't add a paper filter, as I "found" it helps with reducing cholesterol, but I can actually. You don't always have to grind in the unit. You can pre grind. you beans.I am happy that I purchased this one, over the "other" popular one. As you can hear from the video, this really is super quiet! Which was one of the factors in it's purchase, the other was that the path is more direct, after grinding. Which gives you all of the oils & flavor. Even simple beans taste decent.For the most part it grinds up all of the beans (and quickly), leaving only a few on top sometimes. You can use the 6 grind for a four if you'd like, which will give it more grind time, but often I think it should stop sooner.Strength settings. When on max, it tends to get close to over flowing the grounds (grinds) into the pot, so be careful there. If you're trying to extract as much as you can, you may want to find something else, or use the 6 scoops for 4 grind & hope it works better for you.Clean up isn't bad. It does take WAY more time than a basket. I compost my grounds, but can't get everything out. There are less grounds or dust than other machines, but there are more crevices on this.Overall I am very happy that I picked this Black & Decker Mill & brew machine up. I have a bunch of B&D stuff in my house, & now I have some fresh B&D coffee to start my day with. Who doesn't like a little to start their day?It's a twelve cup carafe, so it's large compared to the 5 cup units I usually buy. For those who want more control over the amount of coffee they use. You can grind 4 but add any amount of water. It grinds on one setting, but always brews what's in the tank. Which is an easy way to overcome the extra strong overflow mentioned above.Anyhow, bottom line after using a few bags of beans. I am very glad that I went with this Black & Decker Mill & Brew coffee maker. I really was leaning towards two other ones, as well as a commercial maker, but saw this one suggested so pondered it for nearly a month. Stop pondering & get the cup of coffee you deserve. Sunday's breakfast is so much more delightful with a little B&D brewing in the kitchen.Oh, one more thing. I detest the translucent side fill window. They (and everyone) have to make it darker). The second pot is okay, the condensation marks where you were at the last time.

This is the third time I’ve purchased this Black+Decker coffee maker, and that’s probably the best review I can give. Every time I’ve needed to replace one, I’ve come right back to the same model because it consistently makes great coffee.My favorite feature is the built-in grinder. Being able to grind whole beans right before brewing makes a noticeable difference in the flavor and aroma, and it’s so convenient to have everything in one machine. Freshly ground coffee every morning is hard to beat.

Love ours. We use it every day. Easy to clean. Lots of options with how strong you want the coffee. I like the timer even so you know how long the coffee has been made. The last one we had from Cuisinart died on us. And there were so many parts to always clean. This is designed simpler. We like it a lot!

This coffee pot doesn't deserve a 1 star. It is horrible in every way. To begin, it takes about 25 minutes to make a 4 cup pot of coffee. You have to set the coffee maker on 6 cups to make a 4 cup pot. When you remove the carafe from the machine after it is finished brewing, the machine will drip, making a horrible mess on the heating element. The first cup is pretty good, but when you go to pour that second cup, it will look like sludge because there are so many coffee grounds in the carafe. Another horrible thing about this coffee pot is that the steam coming out from the top is absolutely insane. If you have wooden cupboards and the coffee pot is sitting below, over time your wood will be ruined from the film of steam and water that settles on them. The cleanup isn't the greatest. you have to empty the coffee grounds in your trash can then rinse the remaining grounds down the sink. Not a good thing.I called Black and Decker customer service, and it was a joke. I called on 5 occasions. First call they requested that I send them 5 different photos, which I did. No response for 3 days. I called them back and they told me I had to provide a pic of the bottom of the coffee maker w/the model number. I did that with no response. Called them back and then they told me I had to provide a pic with the cord cut in to two pieces! Insane! I asked them why the heck wasn't anyone responding to the pics I had already emailed, and why the heck they didn't tell me about these other pictures I needed to send in. No explanation. They gave me a website to check the status of my claim. I logged in and couldn't find anything under my name or claim number.I will never buy a Black and Decker product again. Their products and customer service are horrible!

Coffee is important to my survival, so I feel obligated to write a review on this pot:If i would have paid full price ($100) for this, I would have returned it after first use (which after a week, I’m still contemplating). I got this to replace a 15-year-old Cuisinart, and that was only because my coffee was not as hot as it should be (can't be mad after 15 years though!!) I do like the all-in-one grinder basket, but it's a little daunting to clean because it's so deep and I can’t bang out the grounds into the trash or compost bin, so a lot of grounds wash down the sink drain. The instructions are slightly overwhelming...there are A LOT of steps/options to brew a pot of coffee. And they led me to believe that I could brew 2,4, 6 or 8 cups of coffee with the grinding feature.... but left out the part to only add that many cups of water. So, I added beans for 6 cups, filled the reservoir to “full” (12 cups) under the assumption I could use the remaining water for the next day’s pot, and hit start…. which resulted in about 11 cups of brown water rather than coffee in my pot 11 minutes later (this machine works super slow). Second attempt: I put 6 cups of water in the reservoir, to get just over 4 in the pot? So, by my calculations, I’m missing about 2 ½ cups of water. I’m still trying to adjust the beans to the brew so it’s not so strong.I do like the sneak a cup feature, not one drop falls onto the warming plate. And I can attest that the glass pot is quite sturdy as I dropped it during unpackaging, and it survived! The coffee is hot, and there is a feature to keep it that way for up to 120 minutes.... which is nice if you forget to turn off the machine when you leave the house. It also has a timer feature, so your coffee is ready when you wake up.I’m sure some people will like this machine; it looks nice on the countertop and doesn’t take up a lot of space. But for me it’s too complicated for a dang coffee pot. I’ll probably send it back and get another Cuisinart.

A cafeteira é excelente, bonita, robusta e muito fácil de usar. Infelizmente demorou muito mais que o previsto para chegar devido à lentidão da Alfandega brasileira, mas fora isso, tudo certo.

I have no idea why anyone would complain about this machine. It's super easy to use and easy to clean and produces a great cup of coffee. I was always hesitant about buying a machine with a built in grinder because I assumed it would require too much cleaning but not this guy. You can remove the filter basket as well as the interior basket with the shower head so you can make sure everything is squeaky clean before you make coffee again. Super easy. Also Black & Decker makes a good product. My previous coffee maker was a B&D basic bitch model and I had it for over 10 years at least. Over all, great product and worth the money.

Loved it as much as I love my expresso it successfully replaced my all in one espresso -latte -cappuccino maker as I am only intersted in my black coffee had to use a step down voltage for American / Canadian use in India ...that cost me as much as the machine cost but the output is a perfect cup of joe each time , moreover I knew it before I bought it so no hard feelings for that😉 ...grinds beans to a perfection and is quite user friendly even though with a professional touch !!
