I wish the cardboard slipcase artwork was the actual insert cover artwork instead.
Since this the best and most convenient version of the whole series we'll most likely ever see, there isn't much else to say about this set.If you're an oldschool anime fan and like classic Megumi Hyashibara, get this!If you like quirky old anime OVAs, get this!If you love nostalgic anime BGM and vocal OP/END tracks, get this.If you like literal robotic cat girls, get this!I wish we were getting an actual HD remaster but the Japanese BD sets were treated poorly unfortunately. If it ever happens, I'll buy the series again again for the 3rd time (4th time for the OVAs).This set does have a few cool extras that I wasn't expecting. A few episodes of the UK dub, the original ADV VHS trailers, etc. That was pretty top notch!

Worth the price
As a long time anime fan (started in the 70s with Speed Racer), I remember buying OVAs on video cassettes as they released one episode at a time. I discovered great anime like Project A-ko, Devil Hunter Yohko and still my favorite, Dirty Pair.I wasn’t familiar with All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku, and wasn’t sure if I should drop my whole gift card plus cash on this disc but glad I did.The original 6 part OVA is interesting and fun and may be worth the price of the collection just for those episodes.I saw reviews that weren’t kind to Dash, so I thought I’d watch that next. I thoroughly enjoyed the animation, story, and music in Dash. Surprisingly I may even enjoy this more than the original. Plenty of action and a story that touched this cat lover. The series that I thought would really appeal to me because of the Super Villains and fights against monsters and mechs (the TV series) seems geared to a younger audience than me. Fortunately I’m not epileptic, but still the way the screen flashes whenever a character is identified in the earlier episodes is very annoying. It did get better near the end when the Giant Robo from Johnny Sokko shows up and Ultra Karen was a fun rip on Ultraman. The tv series ending borrowed heavily from Johnny Sokko and his Flying Robit as well.If you love cats, action, 80s and 90s anime, and/or stories about androids with cat brains, I highly recommend this collection of the complete anime.

Here, kitty kitty!
I missed out on the old DVD set a while back, so I was super psyched to see that this was a thing. I love the new trend of SD on Blu-ray if it's not reasonable to give a show a full-on remaster. This means you get ALL of Nuku Nuku in a slim blu-ray box. The OVAs are the star of the show here, but despite Dash being garbage... I'm glad I have all of it available on one friggin' disc!If you're into old school anime, or just like comedy anime... This is an excellent set.

Oldie but goodie
This comes with the original OVA from the early 90's and the other anime series of Nuku Nuku (which I've never seen) so this is a good surprise.I remember watching Nuku Nuku on an old ADV trailer when I was a younger and I enjoyed the song sung by Megumi Hayashibara which is catchy

All the Nuku Nukus
I’ve often made the point in previous reviews of anime that it can go very seriously wrong when the creators try to mix comedy and drama. Comedy animes can be absolutely brilliant, and so can drama animes, but I’ve seen some absolute disasters when creators try to force both concepts in at around the same level. This set rather brilliantly provides an example of each.OVA series: This 6 episode series is a perfect example of how mixing comedy and drama together can be absolutely ruinous. In addition to their constant battles over Mishima Heavy Industries’ weapons and control of Nuku Nuku, Kyusaku and Akiko are continuously battling over custody of their son Ryunosuke. This results in a host of “wearing” rather than “amusing” jokes; so many times I looked at what was intended to be funny that I found completely humorless. In addition, I watched serious drama busted up by inappropriate humor.TV series: The biggest change here was the decision to go almost entirely for humor in the 12 regular and 2 special episodes series. Nuku Nuko’s ENTIRE class are portrayed as a bunch of typical Japanese school raving lunatics, labeled so you can tell them apart: the singer (he never stops), the nihilistic pretty boy, the snobby rich girl and her two underlings, the occult maniac, the avid book reader, the junior mad scientist, the (more than a little overdone) class rep (wait ‘til you meet her entire family!), the teacher that is always getting hurt, etc. In addition, Kusaku and Akiko are happily married and living with Ryunosake while successfully concealing from each other (and even from themselves) that they are each other’s mortal enemies.Dash! Series: The biggest change here was the decision to go almost entirely for drama in the 12 episode series. True there are some funny bits, but the final multi-episode story is drama to the death of several people and androids.Note: Naked female breasts pop up infrequently but occasionally in the first OVA series so be ye warned.
