Street Party Sing-A-Long - 45 English Favourites

Must admit i bought this for the memories of my childhood when many of these songs were indeed familiarsounds, sadly i feel much of the material on-board will never see the light of day again and perhaps consignedto memories-lost-in-time.I did buy it for one or two certain numbers that hold special memories for me of yesteryear, i would have likedto have found fuller and perhaps more traditional renditions of some such as 'Uncle Tom Cobley And All' andindeed 'Greensleeves' along with the theme tune to an early TV series followed - 'Robin Hood'Overall have to say, found myself singing along to one or two as i play the disc.Certainly one for those with the memories of the times.The sing-a-long package includes a booklet with the words to the songs performed.

Just what I needed

This is a very good singalong CD and the cover booklet contains all the song words inside. The CD itself features 45 very well produced and well performed well known "English" songs in medley format. (It even has the Cornish "Helston Floral Dance" song!!!)The singing/ musical style reminds me somewhat of a slightly more modern sounding Blueberry Hill/ Sheila G White and if you like them you are sure to enjoy this CD.This is probably the best budget CD from the Prism Leisure catalogue and although £5.99 is somewhat more expensive than the RRP of £2.99 or £3.99, Prism Leisure (the record label) has recently gone bust and the CD is no longer available so if you want it get it now even if it is a bit more expensive because you are unlikely to be able to get it again elsewhere!!!If you like this CD I also highly recommend 50 Emerald Gems featuring Tom Kilpatrick if you can get it. This is a very similar singalong style CD of some lovely Irish Country songs.
