They're super easy to set up, you can hang them from tree branches, or fences, or put them on tables or along paths to light the way. They are utterly charming. The sun is their battery, so as long as you put them away for the rainy/snowy season and keep them reasonably clean when outside, they'll last a long time and work great.

I’m really happy with the Gigalumi hanging mason jar lights. They arrived ready to use, and the installation/setup was straightforward. They charge quickly and stay illuminated all evening. They look terrific in the backyard, whether I’m hosting a special night or just enjoying the nice weather. Got these as I had been given a couple of homemade ones years ago & fell in love w/design. These are replacing a black plastic version of hanging solar lanterns purchased several years ago. These are much brighter given the open clear jar design & give off more light r/t so many LED's & clear reflective surface area. They're also heavier so they don't whip around & break in the wind as several of the plastic ones did. They power up even on cloudy & partial sun days, then shine as soon as light gets dim until the light returns at sunrise. Enough light given off to see when walking the entire driveway & backyard. I've placed a string of them 3-4 feet apart rimming our driveway & edge of the backyard lawn. They are just what I was looking for. I would definitely buy these again. The first thing you need to do is buy the plastic top ones and not the metal top ones. The metal top ones will rust and they will also expand and contract more with temperatures. The plastic ones will keep a tighter seal, but even for those ones the trick to making them last is to wrap Teflon tape around the threads. I suggest using high density "profesional grade" teflon tape in a inch width and doing at least three wraps around the jar threads and maybe wrapping them as many as six times around as long as you can still thread the cap on after that. These are not normal mason jars that have an air and water tight seal design. If you don’t Teflon tape the threads of these you can count on moisture getting in them, and eventually ruining them. Here’s why these are otherwise good lights. They don’t come on until it’s actually dark. The solar panels on them, and the batteries in them are big enough and strong enough for them to stay lighted throughout most of the night. In my experience that is not true for most solar lights you can buy, and are the main problems with most of them. All of the ones that I bought work perfectly however these are not super ruggedly constructed so I wouldn’t be surprised to receive one or more that was damaged in shipping that didn’t work. That being said their construction is less shoddy than other Chinese made solar lights that I have seen and I have to assume that the company would send out replacements for any non-functioning lights.

****These light up when it’s dark outside.**** These lights are really cute. The shipping was a little off for us. It took over a week longer than expected but I think the box was damaged and had to be repackaged. We found some garden hangers and needed hanging lights! These look whimsical. I would like to buy more but I probably won’t just because of the shipping issue and we’re going into winter. I’ll see how they hold up. “Installation” was easy. You remove plastic from the solar cover and untwist the LED string and screw the cap back on. I added a note to the top that they turn off when it’s bright and turn on when it’s dark. If yours don’t work, check that they’re on, charged with sunlight and it’s dark.

I enjoy the solar mason jars all year long. I like the jars so much I have gifted them many times. I hang them on shepherd hooks.

I am torn with these lights. They are super pretty and add a really nice ambience around our campsite. But I have trouble with their run time. When I first got them I charged them is bright sun all day and used them for a few days cycling day and night leaving them in the on position. Maybe two out of 6 lasted a little more than two hours in the dark. I them took all of them apart and cleaned all of the battery contacts for better charging. A couple more got a little better but overall they only lasted a little longer. I find them very unpredictable and frustrating in their run times, too bad.
