Really cool gift
My husband bought me this for Christmas and it's soooooo cool. If you don't like the ballerina they give you an alternative center piece (I'm going to put something inside it idk what yet) it's made of lasor cut plywood......I broke a few pieces but quite a few of the really small pieces had an extra just incase so I it ended up fine. I broke one of the main arms but a little wood glue and one of those black paper clips fixed it no problem (the super zoomed in picture is the repair) As you would expect it's definitely too complicated for children.

Too many toothpicks required.
I have done 5+ of these projects; the 'more complicated' ones with hundreds of parts. This one I got for my kid who doesnt have the same patience as I do. It was a disaster. The project was abandoned. Honestly, it does take a lot of careful thumb strength to push the toothpicks into place. Not for children.

This 3D wooden flower was fun to build and color.
The media could not be loaded. I have built several 3D puzzle kits. Some out of metal and some out of wood. This model was one my wife asked me to build for her. I mentioned that it would be fun to put some color on it. I had to assemble some parts early to see where I could color it. Then I used oil paint pens to do the colors. I also used a white spray paint as a base on some parts and then colored them. It does take patience to put together. Pressing the pieces out of the wood should be done slowly and evenly. The gear box part with all the gears also takes a good eye and some light sandpaper to make sure all edges of the gears are smooth. Use a light touch when sanding. The instructions are pictures and could use a few more detailed drawings.

Challenging & Beautiful, but Semi Functional
This was my first time doing a 3d wood puzzle, so perhaps I messed it up as a beginner. Everything came together, but the directions were a bit unclear. I had to disassemble and reassemble several times. But no matter how many times I redid this, and how much wax I used, the flower does not open and close all the way, only partway. It is still a beautiful piece and I'm proud to have completed it, even though it doesn't completely work. You definitely need some tools for this; it comes with wax and sand paper, but you definitely need a wood cutting tool, and pliers are helpful due to the fragility of the pieces. I had to shave off a little here and there to get some of the pieces to fit. Sometimes I was afraid that I was going to break the whole thing, trying to put some parts in. It definitely took longer than advertised and was more challenging (not so easy to assemble) than expected, but I do like the complete piece, partially working gears and all. It is also rather overpriced.

Fun to build, customize and operate, some parts easily broken
I love the mechanical beauty of this model as it opens and closes. I decided before building to stain (using stain markers) and clear coat the pieces. I am happy with the result. To make the model more mechanically sturdy I used metal rod (see picture) instead of the wooden dowels and I greased the gears as the model was reluctant to turn smoothly.

Beautiful piece
The finished product is really pretty!! And I thoroughly enjoyed building it! The only problem is that as I was taking the pieces out of the plywood sheet almost all of them very nearly broke. If you've done one of these, you know that little tiny nubbin (no idea what else to call it) that is still attached to the sheet. It's cut all the way around except those little nubbins. Well on this one that little tiny nubbin wasn't so little and tiny. On some pieces it was quite large. I got them all out by cutting them loose with an exacto knife but still.... Anyway other than that one thing, this is one of my favorite pieces that I've done.

Good instructions but difficulty with some pieces
The instructions were very easy to follow but I couldn't get the gears to work it's probably in the issue but I looked it up and I couldn't get it to work

Fun build for a first timer
This was the first wood model I've built. It was fun, not recommend for kids since the wood can break easily. The instructions wouls not be clear if you are a person who struggles with instructions. For my engineering mind, it was fine. The extra pieces helped! I broke a few lol

bello

Arrived spot on time. Not opened the kit yet. Need to have plenty of quiet time to construct this beauty
