just leave it, if the media gets too plugged up, just rinse it with some( tank )water, otherwise just leave it alone it never needs to be changed.

Q: How much media do i need for a sunsun hw-3000 canister filter on a 75 gallon cichlid tank?

1 lb bags are small, I have a sunsun 704b with 4 lbs in it and still plenty of room for sponges and extra ceramic media
