Devilman Complete 1987-1988 OVA Series

Honestly very pleased with this product, but 1 issue that holds it back from greatness is does not include the 3rd part of the ova, Amon Apocalypse of Devilman. Something I think is worth noting

i love the OVAs for devilman!however i do have one complaint, the volume mix on the english dub for this is off, voice lines are much louder than background music, which is a shame, because the background music is awesome.the japanese audio does not have this problem, but it's really noticable if you change audio tracks in the middle of the feature, the english tracks are quieter overall as well. it's not a complete deal breaker for me, and i dont know how much of it was discotek media's fault, but still i feel this should be talked aboutalso don't pay too much for this one, it has a MSRP of $29.95, and i paid $26 for my copy

If you like og anime this is it! Like most 80-90's anime it makes very little sense it's violent and intense! Get it you won't be disappointed! And if your not into the seriousness of devil man than you will have a good chuckle at the odd moments bad dubbing and funny bits you catch.

I blind bought this blu ray of Devilman, and I recommend it for those seeking the weird. There is a normal structure to the tale, but that only makes the fantastical outbursts of violence feel as bizarre as they really are. This is like late night channel surfing when you stumble on to something so outrageous and foreign and compelling that you feel as if you have discovered a secret broadcast from another planet. It is not the whole show but the moments that make Devilman a member of the unrivaled weird. There are two 1 hour shows, one better than the other(I'll let you decide). The story has gaps, but connecting details would only slow down the fun, the madness that is Devilman.

The first and still best anime adaptation. The recent Netflix series may have better production values, but it does not capture the true spirit of the human who becomes a devil in order to protect humanity. There is no good or evil here, just a battle for survival played out in operatic style. Great soundtrack. Exquisite art. A classic of old school anime. Be sure to check out the bonus audio that continues the story.

For a classic like devil man I really hoped for it to have gotten the royal treatment by that I mean widescreen format. The picture looks beautiful but it really deserves to have the widescreen option. Other than that, I don’t have any issues. I still love it as much as when I saw it the first time many years ago.

I have the English dubbed version of it distributed by Manga Corps. The colors looks so intense in the blu ray version and to listen the original dialog in Japanese I almost cried. Yes, I am a Go Nagai fan alright!

Great OAV not cheep but good to have it

昔ビデオでみた懐かしさがあります。最近のアニメのアクションにはかないませんが、原作通りの作り方には、今見ても感動があります。

特典のCDドラマが聞きたくて購入しました。DVDはすでに購入済みなので、国内のBDを買うのに抵抗がありましたが、安価な北米版はありがたいです。国内のBDプレイヤーで視聴できました。字幕もリモコンの字幕操作で消すことができるため、倍速（音声付き）再生も可能です。

漫画版をベースにアニメ化された初期OVA版デビルマンの北米版BDです。国コードの変更なしで、普通の一般家庭にあるプレーヤーでの再生が可能。強制字幕はありませんが、各話のタイトル部分で英語の焼き付き字幕があり、２話目の終了後は本編のBGMをバックに英語のエンドロールが流れます。特筆すべきは特典類。本BDは特典映像として「あのドラマCD」が収録されています。元々このアニメは漫画版のラストまでアニメ化される予定だったものの、結局未完で終えてしまった作品でしたが、代わりに後にオーディオドラマとして漫画版終盤の「アーマゲドン編」を当時の一部キャストを再起用した形で録音し、結果的にドラマCDという形で内容を補完しました。そのドラマCDがまさしくこのBDの特典映像のオーディオドラマであり、これのおかげでアニメ版本編と後日談「アーマゲドン編」を一気に視聴することが可能となっています。個人的には90年代のOVA「AMON黙示録編」も大好きなのですが、やはり一番の理想は初期OVAのキャストでのラストまでの映像化だと思うので、この収録内容は非常にありがたいですね。

Got what I asked for. Brand new condition.Be aware that if you are familiar with the manga, the OVA does not cover the entire story. This Blu Ray is complete in the sense that it has the OVA episodes together in one set, not in the sense that it is the complete adaption of Devilman. Though if you've seen the OVA decades ago on VHS you will know this. It's good entertainment anyway.
