I bought this to use for a robot mower boundary wire, after the thin stock wire broke over a dozen times within the year. The old wire broke so much I purchased a radio wire finder tool to locate the breaks.In Jan 2020 I replaced all of the wire with the extreme dog fence max wire. It is simply staked down to the grass.Since then it has held up to the sun, extreme heat, extreme cold (Feb 2021 ice storm), and the light construction traffic needed to build a shed. Not a single break in the 480 feet of wire installed.Now I need another roll of wire to surround the shed, and I didn't hesitate to purchase the same wire again.

Makes the standard fence wire that comes with most kits look like something fisher price might sell. Much more resistant to lightning strikes than standard wire. I live in central Florida… the standard wire that came with the sportdog (they’re awesome btw, excellent quality products and customer service that I rarely see nowadays. Highly recommend.) kit I bought got struck 2 weeks after installing. Replaced with this wire and it’s been working great for 2+ years now.

I installed over 1700 ft of this wire for my dog's invisible fence system. The wire coating is super thick and the copper wire is great quality. Ironically, a few days after I buried this wire, we had large Duke Power truck service one of the poles on our property. It has been raining non stop and just about everything was turning to mud. The power truck's tires sunk down past the wire at one point but, it didn't damage the wire one bit! I know if I had used the tiny wire that comes with the fence kits, it would have snapped (bringing my entire invisible fence loop down until repair). This is one product that gives you a feeling that it will last a lifetime, thus justifying the extra expense!

I eventually used 2000 feet of this wire. I was wanting a wire that was strong and would carry a strong signal to dog collars. This wire does that. I had a bit of difficulty inserting and keeping the wire in the transmitter. The wire would go into the slot but would slide out. It finally caught hold and has been ok for several days. If need be, I can file the wires down or just roughen them so the "catch" in the transmitter will hold. I placed three orders and paid different prices per foot for each--my fault. 14 gauge wire is much more expensive that the 18-20 gauge that comes with a kit and what is sold at most stores, but it breaks so easily and some seems to just deteriorate. This wire will keep me from the frustration of searching hours for breaks. This wire is thick enough to be strong and the insulation is thick as well. I am pleased with my installation and look forward the silence of the fence alarm on a cold, rainy day.

I had to run 1,500' of wire for my area. I went cheap with a smaller gage wire and had several issues so I finally upgraded to this. It's much more expensive but it sure was worth it! If you're installing a underground dog fence start with this.

Very durable so far. I bought this one so I could feel confident running a portion of the line through our pond. Our dog loves to get into the water on hot days to cool off. This wire is much more durable than the wire that came with our fence.

I used this for a robot mower fence. I had significant problems with the wire that Husqvarna provided with their robot mower. Many breaks after every overwinter here in New England. This wire should not break and has a much thicker jacket made of polyethylene which is resistant to UV and deterioration. The largest installer of dog fences in New England recommended this wire and suggested that if buried 2 to 3 inches should last many years without breaks. So far so good. Works perfectly with my Husqvarna system.

The spool came a little broken from shipping (could be sturdier for the cost, manufacturer!) but otherwise it's a great wire to use. I only draw attention to the spool because having to lay 2000' of heavy copper wire cable with a broken spool, rolling it to not kink or twist it, generally sucks. But the product itself is wonderful. Confident it will last well though it traverses some rough terrain. I'll be ordering more soon.

I really like this gauge of wire it for my in ground dog fence Ive had major problems with the wire breaking constantly but it was only 16 or 20 gauge not great for the ground but this 14 gauge im positive won't break it is very thick the ground movement and pressure in the winter won't have an impact on this wire Im very pleased!! It was delivered 3 days before the scheduled delivery date I was very impressed with that as well!!No complaints happy all around!!
