Truth be told - I was cynical However, I'm pleasantly surprised. The strips work very well, and I can be 100% sure about this because I have my water softener connected to the hot water only. This is how I wanted it to be setup. I do not want my drinking water softened any more than it is, I actually have a separate filter for that anyway So, I did two tests, and as you can see from the photo. Green is the hot water tap result, and light brown is the cold water tap result. In a nutshell my hot water is soft, and my drinking water is mildly soft. Perfect! All-in-all a conclusive result and there are plenty of strips to last a very long time Would I recommend this product? 100% YES!

The Varify Water Hardness Test Kit's arrival, expedited by Amazon Prime's prompt shipping, was a mixed initial experience. While the anticipation for conducting water quality tests was high, the condition of the packaging upon delivery—discombobulated and somewhat crushed—prompted immediate concern. Despite this, it's worth noting that the integrity of the test kit's components remained intact, a testament to the durability of the items within despite the external packaging mishap. The commitment to minimal packaging is commendable, aligning with environmental consciousness and reducing waste. However, the compactness of the box, while efficient, led to cramped conditions for the contents, resulting in curved and smashed instructions and a tightly packed setup. This aspect, though minor, slightly detracted from the unboxing experience, suggesting room for improvement in balancing eco-friendliness with product presentation and protection. Despite the initial apprehensions raised by the packaging, the Varify Water Hardness Test Kit itself stood out for its quality and ease of use. Following the straightforward instructions, the testing process was seamless, yielding excellent and reliable results promptly. This efficiency and effectiveness highlight the product's value, providing users with a simple yet accurate means to assess water hardness. Our overall impression of the Varify Water Hardness Test Kit is largely positive, underscored by the product's performance and the quality of the results it delivers. While we advocate for enhanced protective measures in packaging to ensure the product's presentation matches its superior functionality, we commend the manufacturer for creating a high-quality water testing solution. The Varify Test Kit is an essential tool for those seeking to gain insights into their water quality, offering precision and simplicity in a compact, environmentally friendly package.

Easy and quick! Tried this out today and it worked great. Just dipped the strip in the water, waited a few seconds, and compared the color. Super simple! Mine showed around 3 gpg (about 50 ppm), so the water’s pretty soft. Nice little test kit to have at home — quick, cheap, and easy to read.

I've been waiting for something as simple and easy as this ever since I've had a water softener, so 15+ years. It's really easy to use, doesn't need batteries and this batch will likely last longer than I will. Great value too.
