Japanese Can Opener (Ganji Kankiri)

I’ve been so sick and tired of buying can openers that fail you time and again. This can opener is simple made well and reliable!I wouldn’t let a child use it because of the sharp edges it makes other then that it’s 100% a great buy!

A must have. Amazing sharpness and easiness to open thick metal cans. Something critical not to have in turbulent times. If you still not have one - I personally would recommend this opener. It makes a thoughtful addition to a present for a relative or friend.

I started off using a regular classic style can opener, but the gear for rotating the can would often slip and got rusty. Read about those fancy ones that cut from the outside of the lid instead, but those can sometimes put slivers of metal in the food, so that wasn't an option for me. Moved onto a P-38, which didn't rust, but was too hard on the fingers. Got a P-51 which was better, but still required quite a bit of effort. This is the last stop on my journey. It's extremely easy to operate, with very little force required to open cans. Not crazy about the color, but for how effortless opening cans is now, I don't care. Great tool, and cheap. Get it and be done thinking about can openers.

I bought this bc I saw it on tik tock. We seem to go through can openers every few months. I have a hand injury but I figured maybe the kids (13 and up) could use it and leave the regular one for me. I used it and fell in love. It’s sharp, cuts easily and is so much easier on my wrist/hand injury and pain than regular can openers. No electricity needed, small for storage. Easy to clean. Highly recommend

The media could not be loaded. Yes! THIS ONE DOES OPEN CANNED SALMON! It’s a simple but brilliant Japanese design for a can opener.Not ambidextrous enough to take a video while holding it. lol! But, at least, my included photo and video will demonstrate how to hold it/ give the correct movement needed. It will open the toughest can! The blade is super sharp, heavy weight metal- slices through cans like butter.My previous experience with well made US, German, and Chinese designed products failed. From the highest rated and expensive electric to the most basic options, nothing worked to open these heavier cans easily. Having arthritis now and weak fingers didn’t help. It was so painful! All previous can openers not only failed at open the can, but produced dangerous fine threads. The edges will be jagged, but I promise this one works!

Super great can opener saw someone use one online and really liked it, super easy to use and sturdy, very sharp so careful! A lil hard on small cans like the tomato paste ones but always usually opens!
